The Wedding

Britt smiled as Atem kissed her and she kissed him back. It was good to still be able to be romantic and not actually have to do much else. Sure she couldn't coax him into their activities with guards around but she could get some time.

Atem led her out of there and took her somewhere they could be in private. He carefully pinned her against the wall and kissed her as things got steamy between them. Britt could tell he had other ideas as they were making out but they still were under royalty now.

"We can't." Britt said
"You want to." Atem said

"I do but we can't." Britt told him "I'm not at full stamina."

As much as Atem knew she was right it was a buzz kill in some way. He still admired her for her responsible nature though as he nod. They spent time together before he had to go to assist his father. Britt went about normal figuring the guards wouldn't try to harm her.

As she was working with people to make decisions for the wedding a guard had decided to make his own attack. Britt was drinking some water to keep her energy up and she hadn't let her guard down so when she felt someone was sneaking out she tried to use her gift to knock the person back but what came out was a gold light.

What was that? Britt thought

She didn't feel weakened anymore as she took a sip and when they looked at who she knocked back they saw it was a guard. Maids were calling for guards and when the group came they were looking down at the one.

"What is she?" The guard asked "That wasn't water."
"That..probably was your future Prince not liking the idea of your treachery." Britt said

The guards looked shock and they started to talk about a child of light. She questioned if they were right but they took the traitor guard away. Atem came running in and checked on Britt seeing she was unharmed.

"You are safe." Atem said

"I am." Britt said "What is the child of light?"
"It's another legend." Atem said "It says the child of light will be known when the mother shoots Ra Gold energy from her hands."

Britt looked at her hand and she flexed it a bit knowing she just did. She felt power surge through her for a moment and when she looked at Atem one of her eyes glowed gold for a second. Atem was shocked and hugged her.

"What a blessing." Atem said

"I don't feel weak anymore." Britt said

"The Childs powers were using yours to gain energy and manifest." Atem said

Atem noticed her suggestions and nod. Orders were given to have everything done within a week. Britt thought a week was asking much but the servants nod. Atem led Britt away from the servants but she still had her doubts. She knew not everyone wanted to accept her as their next Queen.

"Don't let the servants and guards get in your thoughts. Your capable of being a leader. I saw it with my own eyes." Atem said

"I still hate the way some of them look at me." Britt said

Atem put a hand under her chin and had her look at him. She knew he was right she shouldn't let it bother her but there was so much. Atem once again captured her lips in a kiss. Britt kissed him back glad that he still accepted her.

"We won thanks to your leadership and faith in me." Atem said "my father's eyes were opened."

Britt smiled at him

A week passed since that day and none of the behavior with the servants or the guards changed. Aknamkanon put a threat that if anyone tried to harm his future daughter-in-law there would be consequences.

The day was here though so Britt was kept away from Atem. Zahra, Nannia, Mira, and Oseye were put in getting Britt ready. Britt was glad she chose the backless dress as she smiled.

"You look so pretty." Nannia said

"You ready?" Mira asked

"I am." Britt said

After they finished getting her ready they smiled as they went ahead of her being apart of the wedding. Britt took a few deep breaths knowing this was it. She knew if anyone tried to harm her the child was going to protect her.

Our child is so strong. Britt thought

When it was time her dad knocked on the door and she smiled at him. Her dad took the time to look at her and smiled at his beautiful daughter.

"You ready my Nile gem?" Her dad asked

"I am." Britt said

Her dad offered her his hand and Britt smiled as she took his arm taking her to where Atem waited. As they walked in everyone who was attending stood up and smiled as they walked down. Britt looked down for a minute while walking thinking she was going to be sick but once she looked up and seen Atem it all went away.

Atem smiled at her amazed at the dress not that he wasn't surprised by her choices. He saw how she was with her own style at the hideout. When her dad offered her hand to him he took her hand and she smiled. He knew it was always going to end up here somehow.

"Are you ready?" Atem asked

"Everyone keeps asking me that and I am." Britt said

As the wedding began and Britt stared at him she noticed a few things on the table. After Mahad was through the part of the gods bringing them together. He motioned to the items on the table.

"To show this union, the two decided a long time ago to do this ritual. It shows unity and eternity." Mahad said as he poured wine into a goblet.

"My bride first." Atem said

Britt looked at him shocked as she looked at the ceremonial knife and she picked it up. She noticed a cup of water on the table too as she carefully took his hand in hers and made a light cut that started to bleed as she watched him hold it over the goblet for a few seconds. On instinct they watched as Britt had a small drop of water float over and go over the cut to heal it and disperse. Atem then carefully took the knife as he held her hand over the goblet and did the same thing letting a few drops of her blood hit into the wine as he put the finger in the water seeing it glow then removed her finger out of it.

"You remembered." Britt said

"How could I forget." Atem said

Mahad started to mix the blood and the goblet together

"As this is mixed, shall we proceed to the next part. The rings." Mahad said

Mira presented the rings to the two as they both picked them up and prepared for the next phase of the wedding. Britt looked at the one for him seeing it was carved with a Nile drop on it and she looked at the one in his hand with her eyes seeing a Nile blue crystal in the middle.

"The option for simple or custom vows was chosen. Prince would you like to start?" Mahad asked

"Of course." Atem said as he took Britt's left hand "Britt, our meeting was not the best. I did not know that the girl I was destined for would show such leadership skills and prove she is more than worthy to be my Queen. I promise to love and cherish for as long as we live. So with this ring is a symbol of my love." Atem put the ring on her finger as Britt was trying to calm her heart racing.

"I was not the best when we met but I came to learn that just because you think it was chosen doesn't mean you can't choose your chosen too. I felt a connection with you the moment we met at your envoy but my actions would not contradict me. I fell In love with you after you saved me and the others. So with this ring is a symbol of my love." Britt said as she put it on him.

"Now with the wine, you both will drink half to share and show your commitment." Mahad said

Britt and Atem both nod as Britt drank the first half and then Atem drank the other half. Both using a napkin to wipe their mouths of the little bit of wine that escaped.

"By the power of the Gods of Egypt, I present your next Pharaoh and Queen. You may kiss your bride." Mahad said

Atem pulled Britt close as he leaned her down and kissed her. Britt kissed him back as she found this very romantic. Everyone cheered seeing the wedding go so smoothly.
