2 - The Suns

6:00 PM – Have a Good Coffee

Lisa sat at a corner table, absentmindedly stirring the ice in her coffee as her mind drifted elsewhere. Lately, she'd been stuck in a frustrating cycle, torn between denying her feelings and holding onto her pride. The internal conflict was exhausting, but she refused to acknowledge it out loud.

She sighed, taking a slow sip from her drink.
"Hey, Limario!"

The sudden call snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned to see Chaeyoung grinning at her, the dimpled troublemaker looking as smug as ever.

Lisa groaned. "You scared me! I'm thinking here, don't bother me," she grumbled, but Chaeyoung only giggled and playfully smacked Lisa's forehead.

Lisa scowled, rubbing the spot where she'd been hit. "What the hell, Cub? Why did you—"

"I know I'm small like a bean, but I hate beans!" Chaeyoung interrupted, dramatically placing a hand on her chest. "Anyway, talk to me, Limario, I'm bored." She whined like a child who had lost their candy.

Lisa sighed in resignation. Chaeyoung had been the only one who replied to her messages, which was why they were hanging out at this café in the first place.

"School is coming," Chaeyoung suddenly muttered, resting her chin on her hand.

"Welcome back to hell."

Lisa smirked. "But at least you'll see Mina from the Moons, right?" she teased, watching as Chaeyoung immediately stiffened.

The short-haired girl blushed, looking away. "Shut up, Lisa. She's pissed at me. I don't want to talk about it," she mumbled, suddenly finding the floor very interesting.

Lisa burst into laughter, loud enough that a few customers turned their heads.

"Yah! Don't laugh like that!" Chaeyoung hissed, smacking Lisa's arm. "At least I'm not like you, almost stealing Jennie's first kiss. Jennie! The leader of the Moons!"

Lisa's laughter died instantly.

Her face burned, and she quickly sipped her coffee to avoid saying anything stupid. But Chaeyoung had already seen her reaction, and she grinned knowingly.

Lisa cleared her throat and ignored her friend's teasing gaze. Instead, she pulled out her phone and started typing a message.

Phone Conversation:
• Lisa: Yoo, Jeongyeon!
• Jeongyeon: Wae!
• Lisa: Let's go to the bar.
• Jeongyeon: What time?
• Lisa: Now.
• Jeongyeon: Okay, where are you?
• Lisa: 'Have a Good Coffee.'
• Jeongyeon: Okay, give me 30 minutes. Wait, is someone with you?
• Lisa: Yes, Cub is with me. Bring Seulgi.
• Jeongyeon: Got it. Seulgi's with me right now.
• Lisa: Okay, take care. Bye!
• Jeongyeon: 😉

Lisa locked her phone and turned to Chaeyoung.

"Chaeng, we're going to have fun tonight."

Chaeyoung blinked. "Jjinjja? Where? What? How?" she bombarded Lisa with questions like an overly excited kid.

Lisa chuckled. "Chill! First, we're going to the bar. Second, call Dahyun and the others. Jeongyeon and Seulgi are joining us."

"Copy!" Chaeyoung saluted, then quickly dialed a number.

On Call:
[Dahyun:] "What's up, bro!"

[Chaeyoung:] "Hey bro! We're going to the bar! Bring your ass here, let's have some fun!"

[Dahyun:] "Wait, wait! Who's coming?"

[Chaeyoung:] "Lisa and I are here at 'Have a Good Coffee.' Jeongyeon and Seulgi are on their way."

[Dahyun:] "Alright, that sounds fun. I'll try to bring Ryujin too."

[Chaeyoung:] "Okay! We'll wait. Drive safely, idiot."

[End of call.]

Chaeyoung put her phone down. "All set. Now we wait."

Lisa nodded and went back to scrolling on her phone. As she casually browsed through social media, her eyes landed on a group photo.

Curious, she clicked on it. Her breath hitched when she recognized the faces.

The Moons.

Sana. Mina. Irene. Nayeon. And Jennie.
Lisa found herself zooming in on Jennie's face.

She stared at it longer than she should have.
'Pretty,' she thought absentmindedly.

A second later, she slapped her own cheek, startling Chaeyoung.

"Lisa, what the hell?!"

"Nothing!" Lisa hurriedly locked her phone and took another sip of her coffee, pretending nothing had happened.

Just then, a familiar song played over the café's speakers.

Now Playing: 'Always Be My Baby.'

The melody sent a pleasant chill down their spines. Chaeyoung tapped her fingers to the beat, humming softly before finally singing along.

4 Minutes Later...

"Always be my baby~" Chaeyoung sang the last line, her eyes closed as she swayed slightly in her seat.

Lisa giggled but suddenly noticed Chaeyoung looking at the entrance.

Three figures were approaching.

"Bro! Hyung! Bear! Over here!" Chaeyoung called out, waving excitedly.

Lisa followed suit, smirking as she watched their friends walk in.

"What's up, bitches!" Dahyun greeted, throwing her arms around Chaeyoung.

"Hello there, shitheads," Seulgi added with a grin.

Jeongyeon sighed. "I can't with these two. Anyway, hello, guys."

"Oh, hello, motherfuckers!" Chaeyoung responded without missing a beat.

Lisa shook her head. "I can't with you three."
"That's what friends are for," Jeongyeon said, making everyone laugh.

Once they settled down, Lisa turned to Dahyun. "Did you invite the others?"

"I texted Moonbyul, but she said she's busy. She'll join next time."

Lisa nodded before turning to Seulgi. "And Wendy? She lives near you. Why didn't you invite her?"

"She's in Canada for something. She'll be back next week for school," Seulgi replied.

Chaeyoung suddenly perked up. "Wait, Dubu, you said you'd bring Ryujin?"

Dahyun smirked. "That little shit is acting weird. I saw her talking to Yeji from the Moons."

Lisa blinked. "What?"

Jeongyeon raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

Dahyun leaned forward, looking smug. "I saw the message on her phone. The contact name was 'My Yeji ❤️.'"

The four girls gaped.

Seulgi gasped dramatically. "Our maknae has grown up!"

Chaeyoung, however, frowned. "Yah! We're Suns! Yeji is from the Moons. Is that okay?" She looked at Lisa and Jeongyeon, the two leaders.
Jeongyeon exhaled. "We can't control their hearts."

Lisa was quiet for a moment before finally speaking. "If they truly love each other, we shouldn't stop them."

The group nodded in agreement.

Seulgi, meanwhile, felt a pang in her heart. Ryujin was brave. She wasn't.

Dahyun suddenly blurted out, "I already have my eyes on someone in the Moons."

Chaeyoung's eyes widened. "Who?"

Dahyun took a deep breath. "Sana. Minatozaki Sana."

Chaeyoung smirked. "Heol. Full name basis, huh?"

Dahyun narrowed her eyes. "Shut up, Myoui Mina."

Chaeyoung immediately stood up. "ANYWAY, let's go to the bar now!"

Laughing, the group left, ready for a long, eventful night ahead.
