Jihyo stood at the podium, her usual calm, commanding presence masking the nerves bubbling beneath the surface. The hall was buzzing with anticipation, and she could feel the tension thick in the air. Hwasa stood beside her, offering a quick nod of support before stepping forward to address the crowd.
"Alright, everyone, settle down," Hwasa's voice boomed, immediately silencing the room. "We've called this assembly because we have a major announcement."
Jihyo took a deep breath, gripping the edges of the podium. "As many of you know, our academy has prided itself on being a prestigious, all-girls institution. However, recent developments have led to a new partnership. Starting next week, we will be hosting students from an all-boys academy for a trial period."
The room erupted into murmurs, gasps, and a few groans. Jihyo could already see some of the Suns exchanging heated looks, while a few of the Moons whispered excitedly.
Hwasa stepped back in, her tone serious. "This partnership is only for one week, and it's meant to assess how we can integrate more collaborative educational experiences in the future."
From the crowd, Lisa stood up, arms crossed, her voice sharp. "Are you serious? We don't need boys here. We're perfectly fine on our own."
Jihyo raised a hand to quiet the crowd. "I understand your concerns, but this is an important opportunity. It's not permanent, and we will take everyone's feedback seriously after the trial period. This is about collaboration, not competition."
The Moons, on the other hand, were a bit more open to the idea, with Rosé whispering something to Jisoo, who seemed curious rather than opposed. Mina and Chaeyoung exchanged glances, their usual calm demeanor intact.
"I know this is sudden, and I know some of you will be resistant," Jihyo continued, her eyes locking onto the Suns, "but this is something we're moving forward with, and I trust all of you to handle it maturely. The Noons will be overseeing everything."
As Jihyo spoke, Hwasa couldn't help but glance at the students, noticing the subtle undercurrents of emotion: curiosity from some, resistance from others, and in the case of a few—intrigue. She leaned over to whisper to Jihyo, "This is going to be interesting."
Jihyo smirked slightly, "It always is."
As the assembly ended, the students began filing out, with the Suns already voicing their displeasure while the Moons seemed more divided. This was only the beginning, and Jihyo knew the real challenge would come once the boys arrived. But for now, she was ready to face whatever came next, knowing that the partnership might just spark new dynamics—both in friendships and rivalries.
This sets up the tension and conflict for the upcoming collaboration, and the stage is ready for a deeper exploration of how the students will handle the introduction of the boys into their world.
Jeongyeon, visibly fuming, slams her fist on the nearby table. "Boys? Really? This is the last thing we need."
Lisa nods aggressively, crossing her arms. "I don't see the point. We've been handling everything perfectly fine without them. Now they're gonna waltz in here and mess everything up."
Wendy, leaning against the wall with a scowl, mutters, "Not just mess things up. They'll probably think they can run the place. Typical."
Dahyun rolls her eyes, her voice laced with sarcasm. "Oh yeah, can't wait to deal with a bunch of arrogant jerks. As if we didn't have enough drama already."
