14 - The Jealousy

By the second week of their stay on Jeju Island, the bonds among the group had grown stronger. The fact that there were already four couples among them made the atmosphere even more interesting. Mina, however, found herself increasingly bored within the confines of the mansion. She spent her days watching TV, eating snacks, and playing games. Yearning for a change of scenery, she decided to venture outside and suggested a trip to the mall to the other Moons.

However, Sana, Yeji, Solar, and Rosé declined her invitation, preferring to stay at the mansion with their partners. Irene, engrossed in her work on her laptop, also said she was too busy to join. This left only Jennie, Nayeon, and Joy agreeing to accompany Mina.

As they prepared for their outing, Mina noticed that Lisa, Chaeyoung, Wendy, Jeongyeon, and Seulgi were nowhere to be found in the mansion. Shrugging it off, she focused on getting ready. Once they were all prepared, the four girls set off to the mall for a shopping spree, buoyed by their ample budgets.

In the midst of their shopping adventure, they spotted five familiar figures on the other side of the mall. Joy was the first to recognize them and exclaimed, "Isn't that Wendy? With Lisa, Seulgi, Chaeyoung, and Jeongyeon?"

The four girls turned to look, and indeed, Joy was right. The missing Suns were at the mall too. Eager to join them, Joy led Jennie, Mina, and Nayeon over to the group.

"Hey!" Joy called out, catching the attention of the five Suns. They turned around, surprise evident on their faces.

"Oh? You guys are here too," Wendy said with a smile.

Jennie, curious, asked, "What are you doing here?"

Lisa replied with a grin, "We could ask you the same thing."

Seulgi chimed in, "We got bored and decided to walk around."

The other Suns nodded in agreement. Deciding to join forces, the group continued their shopping together. They walked and chatted, enjoying each other's company, until a voice called out.

"Lisaaaa!"

They all turned to see two girls approaching. Lisa's eyes widened in surprise. It was Sunmi, her childhood best friend. Sunmi rushed over and hugged Lisa tightly.

Jennie felt a pang of irritation, though she couldn't quite understand why. "Who is that?" she wondered to herself, feeling a sudden wave of jealousy.

"Sunmi! It's really you," Lisa exclaimed, returning the hug. "How have you been?"

Sunmi beamed and then greeted Chaeyoung. "Hi Chaeyoungggg, long time no see."

Chaeyoung smiled and responded, "Hello Somi. What brings you here?"

As Sunmi and Somi joined their group, Mina felt a growing sense of unease. She gripped the paper bags she was holding tightly, trying to convince herself that she wasn't jealous. "I don't like Chaeyoung," she thought, though the sight of Somi flirting with Chaeyoung stirred something within her. She couldn't shake off the feeling of annoyance and possessiveness that was starting to bubble up.

Nayeon stood off to the side, watching Jennie and Mina intently. The two girls were practically sending daggers with their eyes at Lisa and Chaeyoung, who were engrossed in conversation with Sunmi and Somi. She couldn't help but find the situation both amusing and perplexing.

Turning to Jeongyeon, Wendy, and Seulgi, she asked, "Who are Lisa and Chaeyoung talking to?"

Jeongyeon replied, "That's Sunmi, Lisa's childhood best friend."

Wendy added, "And Somi, she's a friend of Chaeyoung's who once had a crush on her, but Chaeyoung politely declined."

Mina huffed audibly, her irritation evident. Nayeon and Joy exchanged a look of mild disbelief, while Wendy, still confused, asked, "You two, what's your problem?"
