We all sat criss crossed on the floor, trying to figure out who would be the next seeker. Ruby decided it would be a good idea to play Hide and Seek, so we set our plan into action and played along with her. "You be the seeker Issac!" She pointed. "Me again? I was the seeker 5 times already!" Oh yeah, did I mention we've been playing Hide and Seek for 2 hours now? I thought that was a good thing to bring up. I never thought that it would be so addicting, as time seemed to fly past. "How about Dakota seeks? That seems good." "Yeah, Dakota seeks!" Ruby agreed. "I guess I'm seeking then." I smiled. "1, 2, 3..."
I was transported to the warehouse again. Was I going to have to relive this nightmare just after I forgot about it? I walked through the isles full of possibly dead children stuffed into dolls. I was going to turn the corner again when I heard voices. They sounded like 2 men. "Welp, I guess these 2 should go out now." "Why did we have to ship these in 2s? Can't we just do them in bulk and the stores can figure it out?" "I don't know, I'm just trying to get paid." The two men laughed. I peeked my head around the corner to get a look at them. One was holding a cart, and the other was holding a clipboard. The one holding the cart was tall, had chestnut hair, looked really young, and was wearing a grey jumper which I believed was their uniform. The other was the same, just with a couple of different features. The guy holding the clipboard was a bit shorter than the person holding the cart, had dark brown hair, looked like his age, which seemed about 25-27, and was also wearing the grey jumpsuit.
I watched as they chatted, wondering what- or who they were talking about. I peered my head in more to check out what they were talking about. They were talking about 2 boxes, with dead children in them. I knew they were dead children because they looked more lifelike. As I was looking, I felt something crawling on my skin. It was a really huge spider. I screamed and shook the 8 legged bug eater off of me, exposing myself from my hiding spot in the process.
"Hey kid, you're not supposed to be here." It was the younger looking guy. I read the nametag on the left side of his chest that said: James. I realized I'd been caught. I had to come up with a lie and fast.
"I'm sorry, I woke up here and don't know where I am." Really Dakota? That's all you could think of? But I think it worked as James's face softened and made a smile. "Really? Do you know what happened before you got here?" Okay Dakota, a second chance at making up a lie, make it believable this time. "All I remember is a really tall man with light brown hair. He said that I had forgotten some food I had ordered, and gave a bag of food to me. He was dressed up as an employee of the restaurant I was at." Yes, that's good, now keep going and you'll be out of here. "Do you remember what restaurant it was?" "Um, I think it was a cafe. I forgot what it was called as it was the first time for me to go there. It opened a week ago and I finally got the chance to go." TMI Dakota, TMI. "Alright, do you remember where you live? Or at least the town?" "I live on Dimond Ring Road, my house is number 15, and my town is the town of Jameson." What are you doing, don't give him your address? Wait, this is a dream sequence, I'll be fine. "That's 7500 miles away, we're in Charleston." The other man said. I squinted to get read his nametag and was able to make out the name 'Oscar'.
"Oh...." I said. I knew that was a long way from home, a good idea for me to say I was kidnapped. "Wait, this doesn't make sense." James started. "Why would a kidnapper leave his kidnappe here?" Crap, I didn't think about that. "Maybe he was running from the cops, and had to get rid of the evidence." They both looked at me. "So, do you know anything else?" "I know how I got here at least. It was really rainy outside, and I was tied up in the trunk of a car. Luckily, the trunk was open due to the crash. Or at least, that's what looked like happened. The car was smashed into a tree in the middle of a forest, airbags and all. I didn't see any police or anyone else there, and I had to get out of the rain. So I looked through the car for supplies first, and the only thing I found was a first aid kit, some water, and a small bag of snacks. I then had to find shelter, as the car was absolutely wrecked. I walked for about 30 minutes and found this place. It looked abandoned, so I thought it would be a good idea to look through here and maybe find things that would be useful to me. I heard the voices of you guys, got scared by a spider, and then...you know the rest.
James gave me a pity smile and then said "Well, we might as well get you back, but we'll have to wait until his storm clears." "But what will we do about the shipments?" Oscar said. "We can't have a kid on the trip with us." "You're right...hey kid, think you can stay by yourself for a while?" I was about to answer when I slowly faded back to reality.
"47, 48, 49...50! Ready or not, here I come!"
