15. One-On-One With the Ex

Sooyoung's 1st Person POV

Yesterday afternoon, we received the results of the paternity test. Namjoon and Kyungmin came by the apartment, along with Sejin and Chulsan, when they found out. And, Maria had taken Moonsik out for a walk to give us some privacy when we discussed it. Sejin had looked into the whole process to have Namjoon on Moonsik's certificate and to have legal rights. It'll be quite the steps to take but seeing Namjoon willing to take these hurdles makes me feel confident that he truly wants Moonsik in his life for the long haul.

So, it is officially confirmed- Namjoon is indeed Moonsik's father. Neither Namjoon and I doubted this, but we both wanted it as solid proof, for many reasons that he and I have already discussed with each other since we started communicating again. I recalled when Namjoon found out the results and seeing relief in his eyes knowing that he really didn't have to question it anymore. I also saw him get emotional and asked him if he was okay. He just simply told me that it really hit him that Moonsik is his boy and that he'll do anything to be present in his life moving forward. And, well, that made me tear up which caused us to embrace each other for comfort. It was much needed and I forgot how much I loved being in his arms. Though, I shouldn't think about that right now.

When they were over yesterday, Namjoon, Kyungmin, Sejin, and Chulsan stayed over for a pleasant dinner. It was great to see Namjoon really hit it off with Inna and Lucy more. And, of course Moonsik seems to really adore being around Namjoon, so I can't complain about that!

What I've noticed about Namjoon, the few days he has been in Manhattan, is how much he's really bonded with Moonsik. And, whenever I would see him interact with our son, I can see the love he already has for the boy. It warms my heart because I never thought I'd see the day that they would be together like this.

Now, that it is official, Namjoon and I need to figure out the best way to tell Moonsik that Namjoon is his dad. It is definitely a topic we'll be discussing during dinner tonight.

It's currently 5pm, on a Thursday, and I just stepped out of the shower not too long ago. I'm in my navy blue silk robe, standing inside my closet, trying to figure out what to wear to dinner tonight. Namjoon was kind enough to inform me that he's taking me somewhere a little more formal, but that I can get away with something that is dressy-casual.

"Hey, I just finished cooking the chicken fettuccine alfredo. Moonsik is eating in the dining room, watching Soul on his iPad. What are you doing just staring at your clothes?" Inna speaks to me as she peaks her head into my walk-in closet, looking at me questioningly.

"I have that dinner date with Namjoon, to discuss the future with him and Moonsik. I don't even know why I'm thinking too hard about what to wear! It shouldn't even matter!" I say, frustratingly, turning to her to acknowledge her presence.

"Hey, you want to look good for Namjoon. Don't deny it, little sis!" She looks at me, knowingly.

"I shouldn't care! It's not like it's a date! He's my ex who asked to go out to dinner to talk about our son. Nothing more!" I aggressively answer, as I turn back to a bunch of dresses hanging in front of me. I'm trying to convince myself I shouldn't fuss about how I should look tonight.

""Sooyoung, look at me," Inna calmly commands me, and I comply by facing her.

"What?" I ask softly, and taking a deep breath after.

"Tell me that the moment Namjoon came back to your life, not one little part of you has redeveloped feelings for him. Be honest," Inna says to me, with a soft expression on her face.
