Falling for Sensei (Part 2)

Demon Slayer Academy, just another peaceful day. Well, minus the usual rowdy bunch of kids that attended there. A crowd of girls stood in front of the bulletin gushing over something that the "short" Kocho Shinobu couldn't see. Boys passing by the crowd of girls were heard scoffing, muttering things under their breath.

Kanae caught her little sister standing on her tip toes, an adorable effort doing her best to join in on whatever it was that caused the fuss. Shinobu felt a small push forward, instantly recognizing the smell of flowers.

"They're squealing for some reason Onee-San." Shinobu whined to the taller woman behind her.

"You have to study for your exams anyway, don't worry about these random things." Kanae dragged her sister along with her,

Tomioka was completely unaware of what was going on inside the academy. He was in charge of inspection for students that would enter the campus, he was notorious for capturing students that violated the academy dress codes. And he was absolutely brutal with not giving anyone, second chances to late kids, once he closed the gates of the school. Tomioka was late once, the result was a speed show down with Shinazugawa Sanemi and Rengoku Kyojuro. Miraculously, he slipped past them because Rengoku was a good friend of all the teachers.

(Some time later)

"Hey, Shinobu-San?" Zenitsu called,

"Yes?" She answered,

"Do you really believe Tomioka sensei should be this popular?" He gritted his teeth,

"I honestly don't, why?" She asked the blonde boy,

"I agree! All that because of some stupid-"

"ZENITSU!" Tanjiro yelled,

"Don't bully Tomioka sensei! Also we need to get to class!" He grabbed the boy by the collar and ran.

"The bell didn't even ring yet." Shinobu shrugged,

She took her seat in class, earphones in, not paying any attention to the conversations of the people around her.   Scribbling into her notebook, she quickly solved several math problems before the next class was to begin. She got tapped on the shoulder by Kanroji Mitsuri,

Removing her earphones; she greeted the busty pink haired girl with, "Oh hey, shouldn't you be in college?" Shinobu chuckled,

"Did you not see what was the commotion about this morning?" Kanroji whispered,

"Answer my question first captain." Referring to how Kanroji was the cheerleading captain Shinobu held a pink pen to Kanroji, her eyes gleaming at the pink and green snake charm attached to it.

"He remembered I was coming today." She said snatching it from the purple loving girl,

"Yep, he asked me to give this to you a few days ago if I saw you around this time." Shinobu leaned forward,

"You know why I'm here, I have a visitor pass so I'm allowed." She flicked her long braids to the the back,

"I wanted to tell you about the ruckus this morning, it was because of Tomioka-san." She whispered,

"You stopped calling him Sensei right after graduation huh?" She giggled,

"He's only a few years older than us anyways, plus I'm an alumni now!" She smiled,

"So what's the important scoop about Tomioka-Sensei then?" Shinobu's voice was laced in noticeable sarcasm.

"Why are you so cold to him?" Kanroji asked,

"He may have just become a Sensei this year after being a teacher assistant... But people don't know that you used to be friends." She pointed out,

"Kanae didn't know about that did she?" Kanroji leaned besides Shinobu,

"He was barely 17 when we first spoke, his cool headed attitude always got on my nerves." Shinobu reminisced,

"You were a real hot head back then too." Mitsuri purred,

"While you had black hair, and kept saying you wanted to find a strong husband." Shinobu reminded her,

"Do you think that you and him will make up again? Kanroji couldn't look her in the eye,

"Irdk, Maybe if he didn't cut me off I wouldn't be so picky." She answered,

"You see him every day... Have you guys ever tried to talk about the way you felt when he left for college?"

"I don't want to talk about it, he knows it's a childish thing to be mad about. Hell I know it too, if he bothered to speak to us when we lost our parents at least..." Shinobu stopped herself,

"So yeah, that's why I pretended I didn't know him. He just went along with it so that's why we behave this way." Shinobu shrugged,

"We live our own lives now, he didn't do anything but it isnt the same... Don't mention this to Kanae, okay?" She gave Kanroji that usual sad smile of hers,

"Ah darn, I was hoping you would patch things up by now." Mitsuri played with her braids,

She leaned back into her chair uninterested, Kanroji pouted at her younger friend. "Foo, I was hoping you liked him so I wasn't the only senior that fancied their teachers." She whined,

"Keep your voice down! A lot of people don't know about you and Iguro Sensei." Shinobu whispered to Kanroji,

"It's fine! I'm in college now, and I'm nearly 19 so this is legal. Im not even a student here, he was just a teacher assistant at the time." Kanroji nodded,

Shinobu smiled halfheartedly, this is so weird. She thought, Kanroji left the room waving a polite goodbye. The butterfly loving girl looked down at her own hands, she was jealous of how Kanroji was tall and busty, her nails and hair beautiful. Shinobu did not mention how insecure she was when others compared her to Kanae. She was once a short tempered girl, but she became a lot like Kanae after the loss of their parents.

It does not matter, that was a long time ago. Friends a long time ago. Shinobu whispered to herself, time passed quickly. As her school day ended with her awkwardly passing by Tomioka Giyuu, she rushed off to meet Kanroji at a nearby restaurant, Shinobu didn't want things to seem like they ended on a sour note. Hence the reason she offered to treat Kanroji to clear any misunderstandings.

"Oooh!! You're here!" The pink haired girl squealed,

"Now here look at these pictures I have or Tomioka sensei." She gushed,

"How and why did you even get this?" Shinobu facepalmed,

"Just shut up and look at his class photos." Kanroji cut her off,

Shinobu laughed, "If he wasn't so socially awkward, he could have been more popular back then."

"He would be three times as popular as he is now." Kanroji nodded,

"Whatcha staring at?" Nezuko asked the two ladies,

"Aaah! Nothing! You're too young." Kanroji blurted,

"It isn't important Nezuko chan." Shinobu said calmly,

"If you want more pictures of Tomioka Sensei, you could just ask Urokodaki-San. He adopted Mr. Giyuu and his sister." Nezuko told them,

"What?! We never asked." Kanroji blushed,

"If that's too embarrassing then the best person to discreetly is Makomo senpai. But she won't do it for free... Your secret is safe with me." Nezuko winked at them,

"Cheeky devil, but I love her." Shinobu sighed,

"You lied about not liking him right?" Kanroji asked,

"Ssssh or I won't treat you anymore." Shinobu pouted,

"But Kocho that isnt fair!"
