I was on the ground, a chilling numbness spread across my body. I began to go in and out of conciousness as my own blood from my amputated arm spilled onto the ground. For a moment I felt my own sister's presence, she shook me by the shoulders softly, telling me to wake up so I could save my friends. I thought she was waking me up from a deep slumber so I tried to close my eyes again. For a few minutes maybe, I felt warmth and complete silence. Cries of my comrades did not reach me in this dreamlike state, as if I were transported into another dimension. One free of Muzan, my arm was still intact. I felt a great peace, and relief, there was no fear and no pain. Shinobu's scent came, and I felt her press those tiny little hands of hers on my face. I couldn't see her, but I felt that this presence was undeniably her own.

She whispered words of encouragement into my ears, and told me how more of our comrades would die if I didn't do something quickly. And swore to me, she would never forget me. And asked me to do the exact same as she promised for me. When I finally came to, I whispered to the God above in my weakest form, hoping that this prayer would be answered. For I knew, Shinobu had already died recently before our final showdown with Muzan.

"God, if you can hear me... Please let me save my friends, please let me see that they will live good lives. Give me strength to help them." Giyuu took a sip from his tea before continuing his story.

He told Yushiro everything, how he felt. The message told from crows. How he broke down for Tanjiro because he thought he failed. And all Tanjiro's hard work to see Nezuko as a human would be for nothing. He then expressed his sense of peace as he knew Muzan had been killed. Including, how much pain he was in during his road to recovery. Finally, how the Ubayashiki family called Giyuu and Sanemi to inform them about the demon slayer disbandment. Once their meeting had ended, Ubayashiki's heir handed him the vial made for him with Tamayo's blood.

After that lengthy explanation to Yushiro, Giyuu revealed the letter. Showing the true feelings of Shinobu who was almost 100% certain Giyuu was going to survive the final battle with Muzan. As a way to show her love to him, she wanted Giyuu to never feel lonely by being able to see her as often as he wished. Even if it was only a mere hallucination, Tamayo took pity on Shinobu after learning of her plans to allow Kanao to avenge the death of Kanae, and give closure to the one she loved yet could not reveal this to.

He went on to tell Yushiro of the first time he opened the vial, he could smell wisteria, and hear laughs from the unknown light. He felt warm for a moment, and began to see the special illusions prepared for him.

Shinobu also explained things to him. She calculated the emotional strain she and Giyuu would have if they had started a relationship under these circumstances. It would have distracted them, and if they did not train the corps or improve on the cure to turn a demon into a human, the battle would have been lost completely. Shinobu's letter revealed she once had dreams of being married a few years after her sister if she ever lived. She would pray to the Gods to turn back time. Knowing that it was futile, all she could do was move forward, her change in actions were so nobody could ever forget Kanae. But would still see her as Shinobu even if it meant to change her personality to comfort those in her home.

Her dreams of falling in love, raising a family of her own, healing people as a doctor. Living a peaceful life without demons and worrying if they would devour her children and grandchildren, dreams of when she would become old and gray. Passing away peaceful knowing she had a complete and loving family to see her on these last days of her life. It was all something she had to accept would not happen, at least not in this life. Her biggest challenge was that she had to throw away her heart for the sake of victory. To release all of her fear about death, the afterlife and leaving her precious ones behind.

Shinobu worked to find a cure, and a way to convey her feelings even after death. Her resolve, along with her secret desire to reveal her gentle side was enough to win over Tamayo. Who then offered to cast a spell with her blood, and link Shinobu with it by mixing her blood into the vial as well. She also asked for a strand of Shinobu's hair to strengthen her presence in the special illusions. And it was a complete success, to remove Shinobu all that needed to be done was to remove her hair and place an object of Tamayo inside of the small vial.

Tamayo did not want Yushiro to be alone either, she sacrificed herself for the good of those people. For the future of the demon slayer corps and the innocents that were to be born into their world. With a heavy heart, she said her goodbyes to Yushiro who chose to let her memory live on permanently. He then took up a paint brush and began to practice painting the beautiful woman he had loved so dearly. Giyuu also told Yushiro to take the necklace when he passed since he knew the magic was not going to last forever. As it weakened to a human's nose after many uses.

Yushiro swore to keep this secret to the end of Giyuu's life. As hopeless and antisocial as he was, Giyuu was a man with exceptional intelligence. He in turn requested that Yushiro allow him to live off his final days in peace. To assist the others, as he knew his time would come eventually. No matter what doctor they would send, it could not change the fact that his body would weaken faster than others given it's current state. Sadly, the same issues would happen to Tanjiro, Kanao, Sanemi and many more.

Giyuu sat with Uzui and his wives, enjoying lunch. After noticing he did not touch his food Uzui asked him,

"What's wrong? Do you need help being fed?"

Giyuu shook his head with a soft smile, not reaching for the chopsticks laying before him.

"Here, I can help you." Hinatsuru offered,

"Eat up!" Makio grinned at him,

"Is he just shy?" Suma asked,

"No thank you, apologies Uzui. I'm not very hungry." Giyuu excused himself,

"Don't you think he's gotten a little pale? Hinatsuru frowned,

"He's a lot thinner too." Makio mentioned,

"Damn it Giyuu." He sighed,

Suma stopped feeding her husband, her innocent eyes looking back and forth between Giyuu and her unhappy partners. "Am I missing something?" She thought to herself.
