It was the day after my mum had moved and I was still getting used to the idea of not having my mum around. Not waking up to Archie jumping on my bed. Not waking up to a nice, hot, awakening cup of tea from my mum. She text me yesterday telling me she had arrived, but other than that we hadn’t spoke since she left. I walked out of my bedroom to be welcomed by Harry and Lou sitting on the sofa watching early morning television.
“Morning sleepy head! Nice sleep in your new bed?” asked Harry, taking a bite from his bacon sandwich.
“Morning! Yeah, it’s such a comfortable bed,” I replied, taking my place in between the two boys.
“MORNING LOSER!” screamed Louis, full on grabbing me and tiggling my sides.
“Oh my god, Louis! Too much noise! I’ve just woken up! Do you ever not have any energy?” I squealed, re arranging myself back to how I was sat.
“Nope!” he laughed, grabbing the control and turning the channel over.
We spent the next hour or so watching tv, snuggled on the sofa. Lou was sat on one side, Harry the other and I was just spread out across the both of them. I picked up my phone to see if my mum had tried contacting me - nope. I gently sighed and placed it back on to the coffee table.
“Are you okay?” asked Harry, even though he knew I wasn’t 100%.
“Yeah, I guess. It’s just.. you know, weird. I miss her.”
“I know, babe. If it really doesn’t work out, go back to her. But you will get used to it, trust me!”

Harry was right. The next few days got easier as they went by. I mean, obviously I missed my mum, but I got used to her not being around. And I kind of liked it. I felt more free. More grown up.
I was in the kitchen on Friday morning making a cup of tea, whilst Louis and Harry had gone out somewhere. The boys had all been invited to some VIP club tonight so we were all going. Harry was taking me, Liam was taking Danielle, Louis was taking Eleanor and I guess Niall and Zayn were just hoping on picking up a girl at the club. The boys weren’t picking us up until 8pm, and seeing as it was only 11am, it was far to early to even think about getting ready. A few minutes later I heard the door open, followed by footsteps.
“Hiya Melissa!” called Louis from the frontroom.
“Hey Lou!”
As I took a big gulp from my mug, Harry appeared in the door way with a huge grin planted on his face.
“Guess what!” beamed Harry.
“What?” I giggled, watching his excitement as he waited for me to reply.
“Well you know you haven’t been back to Holmes Chapel in almost 8 months… well I have a surprise for you!”
A surprise? From Holmes Chapel? What in the - before I could finish my thought process, a girl with brown hair appeared in the doorway. A girl I recognized within a second.
“INGRID!!!” I screamed, running towards her engulfing her in a huge hug.
Ingrid was my closest girl mate back from Holmes Chapel and I hadn’t seen her in ages! We spoke every few weeks when we weren’t busy but I hadn’t spoken to her since before the move.
“Hey! Harry invited me down for the weekend! He told me about your mum moving away and how you were a bit down, so he thought I could come cheer you up!”
I beamed straight at Harry. He always knew how to make me feel better. Me and Ingrid made our way to the sofa and caught up on the pass few weeks. Even though Harry had told her about the move, I told her everything. From the argument with my mum to the making up. She told me how her and her Jake, her ex, had broken up about a month ago. He cheated on her with one of our “close friends”. But she was okay, she was slowly by surely getting over him.

It was finally 8 o’clock and the boys were downstairs waiting for us to get in the car to go. Harry and Lou were wearing trousers and a top, with a blazer as usual for Harry. Me and Ingrid were wearing dresses, mine a white lace one, whilst Ingrids was a dark blue. Me, Harry, Ingrid and Louis made our way down to the car and got in. It was Ingrid’s first time with meeting the boys, and thankfully she wasn’t to much of a crazed fan. She liked their music and thought they were good looking, but other than that she wasn’t fussed. As we took our places in the limo, I introduced Ingrid to the boys.
“Ingrid, this is Liam, Zayn and Niall. Boys, this is Ingrid. She’s my friend back from Holmes Chapel,” I introduced her.
She shyly smiled at them, whilst they greeted her with a loud “Hello”. I looked over at Niall and noticed he was staring a bit to much at Ingrid. I shuffled over to him and murmured in his ear. “Like what you see eh Niall?” I laughed, slightly nodding towards Ingrid who was sat next to Harry now I had moved.
“Er, what?” he replied nervously, not realizing I had noticed him.
“Don’t act like you weren’t looking. But, if you’re going to try and chat her up tonight, don’t be a douche. She’s just out of a relationship from a complete jerk!”
We finally arrived at the club. It was full of people gathering outside, waiting to get inside from the cold weather they were standing in. We made our way in through the back door to be faced by a load of people already inside. The music was blaring and the dance floor was ready. We made our way over to the bar first to order drinks and took them in to the VIP booth. We started the night off by doing shots. “1..2..3 DRINK!” After about 5 shots each, everyone was a little tipsy other than Liam of course. In the corner, Niall was already making his move on Ingrid. Or should I say he had already made his move on her seeing as his tongue was half way down her throat. I laughed to myself and left them at it, following the others to the dance floor. I absolutely loved dancing, I used to do it when I was younger but gave up in the end. We were dancing away on the dance floor when Zayn came back with drinks, and Niall and Ingrid had finally joined us. Everything was going fine, as we got lost in the sound of the music and movement of our dancing bodies. Then, out of nowhere, some guy approached us, making his way straight over to Ingrid.
“Hey gurllll!” he slurred, completely off of his head.
Ingrid tried to ignore him by turning round and continuing dancing with Niall. But the guy grabbed hold of her shoulder, forcing her to face him.
“I said hello.. you rude -“
“Get off of her.” Niall ordered, pulling her away from him.
“Why? What you gunna do? I’ll do what I want with her!” he pushed Niall out of the way, grabbing on to Ingrid by her hair, planting sloppy kisses all over her face. She was struggling to get away, but his grip was to strong. Then, within a blink of an eye, Niall forced himself on to the guy, punching him to the ground. The door men ran over to the scene of the fight, holding back Niall from the guy on the floor. “I told you not to touch her!” spat Niall, breaking himself free from the door men, and taking himself and Ingrid outside. We all followed, knowing this was the end of our night. As we made it outside, Ingrid was in tears. I ran over to her making sure she was okay, but she was already wrapped safely within the arms of Niall. Reassuring her everything was going to be okay, gently rocking her back and forth.
As we got in the limo home, Ingrid was still holding on to Niall. “Shh, it will be okay. I’ve got you,” whispered Niall, trying to keep her calm. Everyone was going to stay at ours tonight after everything that had happened.
When we got back home, Ingrid had finally calmed down and all of us girls made our way in to my bedroom. We got ready for bed and briefly went in to the front room to say night to the boys, who were talking about the complete ass hole back in the club. Niall quickly got up, making his way over to Ingrid, and gave her a huge cuddle. As I turned around, I saw him give her a soft kiss on the lips. Winking at them both, we made our way back to the bedroom, going to sleep after a eventful night.
