Sonni's POV
"It's Auntie..." Sam said. I felt my heart race as I began to panic mentally. Auntie was practically my mother, and I wasn't ready to loose someone with that rank in my heart for a third time. I heard the others talking, but I blocked them out as I scrambled to get my sweatshirt on. It wasn't until I was almost to the door behind Sam when someone caught my wrist. I turned to face Liam and his worried brown eyes.
"Please, be careful..." was all he could say. He brought my hand too his lips and gave it a small kiss.
"I'll be okay..." I knew I couldn't promise anything, but I knew I had to try. I slipped my hand from his and ran into the rain and to my van with a waiting Sam.
"Do you know what's wrong?" I asked her. She shook her head as I made my way out onto the treacherous roads.
"I don't know what happened, they just called and said she was in the emergency room..." she whispered.
We drove in silence until my van began to rumble and slow.
"Shit, not now!" I shouted.
"What do we do now?" Sam asked.
"I'll stay here and try to call one of the boys with your phone The hospital should be about a mile down the road from here, you run and be with Auntie whi-"
"You go Sonni." She cut me off.
"Sam I can't she's your aunt not mine."
"But she means more to you. And you can get there faster."
"Sam I-"
"Go Sonni, you can call me from the hospital."
"Sam..." I sighed I couldn't argue with her, "Liam's number is in the glove box on a sticky note, tell him the spare key is under my mattress and to bring my car to the hospital and pick you up along to way. I'll meet you there." I said taking my jacket and sweat pants off leaving me with only a t-shirt and shorts.
"Sonni what are you doing? You're going to freeze."
"I run faster without the extra weight, and Auntie needs me now."
"Be careful Sonni."
"You too..." I said before slamming the door and starting off.
As I ran I could feel my adrenaline build up and I ran faster. I pasted houses and saw tree limbs scattered everywhere. I kept to the side of the road and dodged any obstacles in my way. I was almost there to the hospital when I stopped on a dime frozen. I couldn't comprehend what was happening when I collapsed to the ground. I felt like I was shaking and I couldn't stop. I saw someone run towards me, but I wasn't able to find out who before the world went black.
Liam's POV
I couldn't help but worry if Sonni was okay, since we had hung out these pasts few days I feel like I've known her for so much longer and I felt like I couldn't loose her now.
"Don't worry mate. They'll be fine, I'm sure Sonni knows what she's doing." Niall said giving me a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.
"I hope so..." I mumbled staring out the window. At that moment I felt my phone ring. "Hello?"
"Liam? It's Sam." She responded, just by her voice I could tell something was wrong.
"Sam, is everything alright?"
"Not so much, the van broke down, it's about a mile away from the hospital and I need you to come pick me up."
"I don't have a-"
"There is a spare key under Sonni's mattress go get it." She cut me off. I ran into the bed room and flipped the mattress up, sure enough there was a small black key.
"Got it, now what?" I asked.
"Sonni's car should be out back, can you drive here?"
"No, but Louis can, we'll be there soon." I said before pressing end, "Louis I need you to drive."
"What's wrong?" he asked pulling on his coat.
"The van broke down and we need to meet the out there, can you take me?"
"Well we can't just leave them there let's go."
"If you two are going we all are." Zayn stood up along with the other boys.
"Guys I-" I tried.
"Liam, we are all coming, no arguing." Niall said pulling his sweatshirt on.
I sighed in defeat, "Lets get going." We stepped outside to see a large black escalade.
"That's her car?" Harry asked shocked.
"It's the only one here, come on let's get going." Louis said unlocking the car.
He drove off as fast as possible without wrecking the car when wefinally spotted the white van. We pulled up behind and honked, soon Sam came barreling out and into our car.
"Where's Sonni?" I asked.
"At the hospital." She said out of breath.
"How the hell did she get there?" Harry asked stunned yet again.
"She ran, she had, and still holds the fastest mile time back at our old school since we were 12, now drive." She demanded. Louis quickly darted off to the hospital.
'Please be alright...' I silently prayed.
As soon as we pulled up to the hospital we all jumped out and ran in.
"Laura Penrose?" Sam almost jumped at the receptionist.
"Um..." she said scanning through the computer, I looked behind me to see a team of doctors wheeling an unconscious girl past us but I couldn't get a look at her face with her hair sprawled out the way it was and the doctors all around. Some how I felt like I should follow, but I brushed it away, I was only feeling sorry for the poor girl.
"Patient is unconscious, and heart beat quickening." "Get her a room stat!" I heard doctors barking orders as they wheeled her away.
"Room 218, second floor." The receptionist said snapping me back.
"Thank you." Sam answered before we all darted to an elevator, and down the hall to the room.
"Auntie?" Sam faintly called.
"Sam is that you?" the women called.
"Auntie! Are you alright?" Sam rush over and embraced her in a warm hug while the rest of us stood there.
"Don't worry hun, I'm fine just a broken bone or two." She smiled, "Where's Sonni?"
Sam's expression changed to how I felt, "She... She hasn't seen you?"
"Why would she be here sooner? Isn't she with you?"
"No our car broke so I waited and she ran here so she be here with you."
"I haven't seen her."
I flashed back to the girl in the stretcher like she was right by me again, and I finally caught a glimpse of her face.
"Sonni..." I whispered before I alone darted out of the room.
