Liam's POV

"LIAM!" The lads shouted, but I kept on running.

'She has to be okay, she needs to be okay.' I thought to myself as I ran to the receptionist again. My heart was racing, my stomach was knotted at the memory of her lying unconscious in the stretcher. 'I need to find her...'

"Excuse me ma'am?" I asked out of breath, "The girl who just came by when I was down here, do you know what happened to her?"

"A women had come in screaming that a girl was lying in the parking lot and wasn't moving. She claimed she was struck by lightning and collapsed. Doctors went out and lifted her on a stretcher to bring her in."

"Could you tell me where she might have been taken?" I could feel myself shaking in my shoes.

"She is in room 332 but-" I didn't bother sticking around I was to busy running to find her. I pressed the button for the elevator but it was taking too long! I looked around and found the stairs and darted up them. I followed the signs to find her room with doctors rushing in and out. When I tried to enter another doctor blocked me.

"I'm sorry sir I can't let you in."

"I need to see her." I stressed. I couldn't get over the turning in my stomach.

"I'm sorry, I can't let you in, the patient-"

"Her name is Sonni." I almost growled.

"Sorry, Miss Sonni, is in critical condition. I'm going to need you to step back and let us handle this."

"Please let me see her!" I was literally about to just push him aside and run in when I felt arms dragging me back.

"We'll take him, I'm sorry for his behavior" I heard Zayn apologize.

"We're not sure what got into him." Louis explained before they both dragged me down the hall.

"What the hell is going on with you?!" Harry nearly shouted.

"And who is in that room?" Niall said coming up next too me.

"Shewasintheparkinglotandwasstruckbylightningandthensomeonefoundherandtheybroughtherinonastretcherandshewasunconi-" I rushed and stuttered before there was a sharp sting to my cheek. And my head stopped spinning long enough to realize someone had slapped me.

"Thanks... I think I needed that..."

"Sorry mate." Louis shrugged, "Now go on spit it out."

"There was a girl found in the parking lot unconscious and the doctors learned she had been struck by lightning. When we were in the lobby there was a girl on the stretcher... it was her... why did it have to be her?" I mumbled as I slid down the wall. With my knees at my chest, I placed my head in my hands.

"Who? Who was it Liam?" Niall asked crouching next to me.

"Sonni..." I whispered.

"Liam... please tell me it's not true..." I heard her faint voice loud and clear.

Sam's POV

'It can't be true.' I thought silently. I looked down at Liam on the ground. He lifted his head and I could tell he was keeping back tears, unlike me failing and having a tear slip down my face. "Liam, please tell me she's not in there... tell me I heard incorrectly. Tell me this is a mistake, that I'm not hearing those doctors shouting to help Sonni...Please tell me your lying." I was letting more and more tears fall at the thought of her broken. Strong and sensitive Sonni falling apart on the other side of the wall.

All Liam did was let a tear slip, but that was all needed to knowbefore I darted back down the hall. My tears flowed over my eyes as I dodged patients and doctors, but I still couldn't stop running; this was my fault.

"SAM!" I heard someone shout behind me, but I couldn't stop. I kept running when I finally came too the lobby doors that lead outside. Just as I was about to run out when someone caught me by my waist and I was yanked back against somebodies chest.

"LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" I cried. I tried to ring myself free of his grasp, but it was to strong.

"Sam you need to calm down." Louis said into my ear.

"Don't tell me what to do Louis! You don't understand! It's my fault, It's all my fault! LET ME GO! LET ME GET WHAT I DESERVE!" I shouted again but my voice was cracking and fading.

"Sam none of this is your fault." Louis lowered his voice to a whisper and rested his head on my shoulder. I could feel my body relax, but my mind was still racing.

"You don't know Louis! I told her to run, she wanted me too, but I made her go! It's my fault, it should be me in that bed. I should be the one doctors are trying to help."

"And Sonni be the one who is trying to worry everyone more by running outside into the same storm?" Louis asked.

"She is stronger than I am..." I sobbed. And she was, she was stronger than I could ever be.

"I doubt that."

"What do you know, you barely know me?"

"I don't need to know you long to see that you are stronger than you seem." He turned me around to that I was looking into his eyes and his hands rested on my shoulders, "She would want you to be strong for her."

I only nodded in response. I couldn't speak because more tears came down and my throat felt restricted. Louis pulled me into his arms one last time before the two of us made our way back up stairs to shouting and rushing ofdoctors and the only true friend I had...
