~(Y/n)'s POV~
"...(Y/n)?" April called my name, a smile on her face.
"Hm? What's up?" I asked, taking a break from eating.
"Why is...she here?" April pointed next to me, her smile faltering.
"Hm? Oh, yeah, we're friends now."
Sitting next to me, Julie had her arms crossed underneath her chest, and one leg over the other. Her eyes were closed, and she was looking to the side.
"You know, I'm kinda surprised it took you so long to say something. We've been sitting here for like, what, five minutes? The entire time you just sat there with a shocked expression on your face." I said, as I continued on with my meal.
"Why do you think that is?! I thought you hated her! Now she's eating lunch with you, and she's sitting next to you?"
"Excuse me! How dare you! I don't eat lunch, thank you very much!" Julie chimed in.
"You don't? Aren't you hungry?" I asked
"Not really, I only eat two meals a day. One before I come to school, prepared by the personal chef's, of course. Then, a few hours after I get home, we have another large meal, though I wouldn't call it dinner."
"...That has to be the most rich girl thing I've ever heard anyone say." April groaned.
"Wha-? How dare you! I'll have you kn-"
She was cut off by a growling noise. I looked around the table, and when my eyes landed on Julie, her face was beet red.
I looked at my peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then back at her.
"You want half of my sandwich?" I asked
"I told you already, I only eat two meals a day, an-" Her stomach growled again.
I chuckled, then split my sandwich in half, and offered it to her.
"...What...is that?" Julie asked.
I looked at her, then laughed. "Stop joking around, take it."
"But...what is it?"
"Wait, you're serious?"
She nodded. "Is this...something I should know of?"
"This is getting ridiculous." April sighed.
"U-Um...it's a peanut butter and...jelly...sandwich." Evelyn spoke softly. I could tell she was a little uncomfortable with Julie at the table.
"Peanut butter and jelly? What an outrageous combination! How could that ever be good?"
"Try it and find out." I said, waving the sandwich in front of her.
She looked at me, then the sandwich, and took it from my hand. "Fine. But I'm fully expecting to gag."
"Oh, shut up and eat it." I said.
She gulped, then hesitantly took a bite of it. After a moment, her eyes lit up.
"Do you like it?"
She looks dazed for a moment, then snaps back into it.
"O-oh! Um...yes. It's good." She said, before taking another bite.
I chuckled, and before long she finished the entire sandwich.
Throughout the rest of lunch, I noticed Julie taking glances at Evelyn, a sad look in her eyes.
After a while, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch.
