~(Y/n)'s POV~
It was the next morning, Thursday, and I was walking down the hall and yawned. I was a little tired after last night. I couldn't fall asleep at all after what Courtney said.
"It wasn't a date...was it?" I muttered to myself.
As I was rounding a corner, I saw some girls surrounding Evelyn, who was on the floor. It looked like they had pushed her down. Then, I saw one of them take her fake cat ears headband off, and break them in half before throwing them back in her face. They laughed, and walked away while Evelyn frantically picked up the two pieces of her cat ears.
"...Evelyn?" I asked
She looked up at me, tears were in her eyes. I held my hand out to her. She took it, and I pulled her up. Then, she hugged me. She pushed her head into my chest. I could feel her tears start to soak through my shirt.
"I'm sorry." I whispered, putting my hand on the back of her head, softly petting it.
We stood there for a few minutes, getting stares and whispers by people who are passing us. Finally, she moved her head away from my chest, and looked up at me. A few tears were still streaming down her face, but it looked like they were the last of it. Her makeup was running as well.
"Come on, I'll bring you to the bathroom and you can get your makeup cleaned up."
I brought her to the bathroom, and waited outside for her. Suddenly, two hands grabbed my shirt and pulled me into an empty classroom.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" It was Julie.
"J-Julie?! W-What are you talking about? Wait, why are you even...talking to me?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Why are you trying to ruin my fucking reputation?" She was obviously pissed and anyone could clearly hear it in her voice.
"I talk to about three people, how would I be ruining your reputation?" I asked. I was thoroughly confused. Why is the most popular girl in school even talking to me? I'm nobody compared to her.
"Oh, so you're gonna act stupid, are you? Fine, I'll spell it out for you. Why the hell did you tell April that I order everyone here to bully others?!"
"Wha-? How did you even know I told her that?"
"You're the only friend of hers that I know of. I figured I'd take my chances, and it looks like I was right. Now, again, why did you tell her I tell people to bully others?"
"(Y-Y/n)?" It was Evelyn.
I gathered up my courage, knowing what I was about to do would get me in deep shit with the assholes. "Listen, as much fun as this was, I gotta go." I walked past her, only for her to grab me by the arm.
"You haven't answered my question yet."
"And I don't care to." To be honest, Julie is one of the people I despise the most. I just wanted to get away from her. "Now, if you'll excuse me."
"I don't."
"I'm not asking for your permission." I said. I yanked my arm from her grip and walked out of the classroom, leaving her standing there. I closed the door behind me, and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm gonna regret that, aren't I?"
"(Y-Y/n)?" I looked to my left, and Evelyn was standing there, looking at me quizzically. "W-Why were you...in there?"
"Oh, don't worry about that. Just something I had to take care of." I smiled at her. "Well, ready to go?"
She shyly nodded, and we started walking to class.
~Time Skip~
Throughout the day, the bullying seemed to become more frequent and worse. I was thrown in a locker twice, but luckily, a student got me out both times, so I didn't get a detention. Hunter took my bag and emptied all of my stuff onto my head. James also took my lunch, so now here I am, in the lunchroom, with no money and no lunch that I brought from home.
