Scene Nine: Mike's Classroom
Scene opens with a shot of Mike writing "Google Classroom code: X5Z6R2" on his whiteboard underneath the phrase: "Welcome to Forensics!". As he writes, the camera pans over to the door where Lexi and Jax walk in and over Mike, camera following them as they walk.
Lexi
Hi, Mr. Larson.
Jax
Hey, Mr. L.
Mike
(Looking away from the board and over to Jax and Lexi)
Jax, Lexi, Hi! I'm so glad you guys could come!
Jax
We wouldn't miss it, Mr. L.
Lexi
Yeah, we're super excited!
Mike
Awesome, well go ahead and have a seat.
Lexi and Jax move to go sit down. Camera continues to focus on Mike.
Mike
We'll get started in a little bit. We'll give it a few more minutes for a few more people to come.
Camera pans over to the doorframe where Rocky walks through and stops midway.
Rocky
(In a humorous tone)
Huh, I guess that's my cue.
Camera pans over to Lexi and Jax, who give each other surprised looks.
Camera pans back over to Mike who looks surprised and happy at the same time.
Mike
Rocky, hi! It's good to see you.
Rocky
(Walking over to Mike)
You too, Mr. L. (Scanning the room a little) So, this is the forensics team?
Mike
For now, yeah, but we're still waiting for a few more people. Feel free to take a seat, we'll get started in a few minutes.
Rocky
(Walking toward the desks)
Sounds good.
Camera follows Rocky as she sits at a desk in front of Lexi and Jax. She sits backwards in the chair so that she's facing them. Off camera, Mike goes and sits at his desk in order to pull up a Google Slides presentation.
Rocky
(Nonchalantly)
Hey guys.
Jax
(Trying to hide his shock)
H-hey, Rocky, hi. You're, umm, you're joining forensics?
Rocky
(Shrugging)
Yeah, I mean, it seemed cool, figured there was no harm in joining. Where's the rest of your theater posse? This seems like it's made for them.
Lexi
Oh, they actually weren't really interested.
Rocky
(In a humorous tone)
Geez, that's pretty lame. Isn't it?
Jax and Lexi both laugh a little.
Jax
(Playing along with the joke)
Oh yeah, totally lame.
Rocky
(Cracking a smile)
Well, I'm glad you guys are here. That means I'm not surrounded by a bunch of assholes.
