Chapter 3: -

Hayami had walked past the brunette boy completely ignoring him.

She thought if she ignored him, he would just leave her alone and return back to his class (completely unaware of the fact that they both were in the same class).

A part of her was curious about what he would have wanted from her, but since he had called her freaking Reez-chan and made her the center of attention, there was no way she was going to listen to what he had to say now.

The first period was History. The teacher was going on about how important the dates in the chapter were and it could come for one mark question.

'What's the point of memorizing dates?'

She hated all subjects except Maths and science. Maths and science were the only subjects she would pay attention in. She liked them because she didn't have to memorize anything in it. It was just plain concept and understanding.

Hayami wasn't listening at all in class. She was bored. She just wanted this nightmare to get over so that she could go out in break.

It was finally break time. Hayami was packing up her things and was about to go get some chocolate milkshake from the vending machine.

She saw two large hands appear on her table.

When she looked up, she met a brown pair of eyes and a face smiling at her.

'This idiot again'

"Reez-chan, are you going out?"

Even though she was pissed listening to that nickname and seeing that stupid fake smile on his face, she decided to listen to what he had to say as there was a possibility that it could be something important.

'What if a teacher had sent him or what if it is something related to the upcoming match'

"Do you need something from me?", Hayami asked.

 The brunette boy pouted.

"Reez-chan, it's not polite to ignore someone's question, twice", he said putting two of his fingers in the air.

Hayami nodded keeping her eyes on him.

"And it's not polite to call someone by their nickname when you don't even know them.", she calmly replied.

"But I do know you", he said tilting his head to the side.

'No you don't. I guess he doesn't have anything important to say after all.'

"Well, if you don't have anything important to say then please excuse me.", she said and started getting up from her seat, ready to head out.

Internally, she was kind of happy. She had managed to socialize with a complete stranger today and said excuse me without sounding mean.

This was progress for her.

Meanwhile, the brunette boy had stepped forward and bent towards her.

Hayami didn't notice. She was too busy congratulating herself for conversing with a stranger without stuttering or sounding mean.

As soon she realized how close she was to the guy, she immediately came to a halt and slumped back into her seat.

The guy noticed this and took this as a chance to ask her properly without giving her a chance to run away.

"Tell me, are you the setter of the girls volleyball team?"

'Is he trying to intimidate me?'
