Chapter 7: -

Hayami was still exhausted from yesterday's match. She yawned and rested her head on the table as she waited for her next class to begin. When she looked up to check which class was next, she was met with disappointment.

The next class was History.

She slumped her head back on to her table and sighed, when an idea popped up in her head.

'I could just skip.'

Hayami was a good kid with good grades but there were times when even she wanted to let loose and this wouldn't be the first time that she would skip class.

She mostly completed all her syllabus by studying from YouTube and if she had to answer honestly, she would say that she only came to school for volleyball practice.

If she had the option of studying at home and only coming to school for giving exams, she would gladly accept it, it would save her a lot of time. It's not like she paid attention in all the classes anyway.

Hayami stood up from her seat and grabbed her earphones from her bag. She eyed everyone in the classroom one time just to make sure no one saw her leaving.

It's not like anyone would notice her leaving or they would care anyway, they all were too busy talking in their own friend groups.

She quietly stepped out of her class, closing the door behind her quietly, making no sound.

She plugged her earphones in and played her favorite song: Yoasobi(Racing into the night) at full volume as she walked down the empty hallway vibing with the song, pretending like she was in a music video.

She was planning to go behind the school grounds in her head when a strong grip on her wrist stooped her.

It had startled her and made her turn around her head with such force that one of her earphones came out.

A frown appeared on her face as she made eye contact with the person who had disturbed her peaceful music session.

"Yes?"

"How mean Reez-chan, I am not a stranger.", the brunette boy replied to her giving her a smile.

'Yes, but you certainly lack common sense to just not follow the universal rule of earphones!'

According to Hayami, it was an unspoken universal rule that you simply do not disturb anyone who has their earphones plugged in, at least not until it is an emergency or an extreme case. It is a 'do not talk to me' sign, which Oikawa did not follow or rather he just chose to ignore it.

Hayami felt like she wanted to end this conversation as soon as possible. Maybe it was his fake smile that ticked her off or maybe it was the sweet tone he was using that annoyed her. Either way, she did not like it.

She kept looking at him until he spoke again.

"Shouldn't you be in class right now? The teacher will be there soon you know."

"Yeah, actually I was heading towards my class.", Hayami lied.

It was rare for her to lie but at the moment she only wanted to listen to music, be alone and enjoy her peace and quiet.

She had lied thinking he would just leave her alone and would head towards his class. She had only met the setter yesterday and they did not talk much after the match, she did not recall telling him which class she was in so there was no way he could know that she was lying.

"But isn't your class that way?", he asked pointing in the direction opposite to which she walking in, which was in fact towards her class.
