This chapter is mostly in Oikawa's POV. Also, it's probably the longest chapter I have written so far. I hope you enjoy reading this.

Chapter 13: -

Oikawa was walking down the hallways towards his class adjusting his back pack on his shoulders. The hallways were quiet and the morning seemed peaceful and fresh. It was still 7 a.m. and classes wouldn't start until until 8:30.

It had been a few days since Hayami had joined their team as the manager.

Ever since that one day she helped him practice, it had now become a routine for her to watch him practicing early in the morning and take notes.

At first she was reluctant to come to school early just to watch him practice.

Oikawa sighed when he remembered the way she frowned at him when he suggested this idea. It looked like she hated the idea of coming to school early more than anyone had ever hated waking up in the morning.

But she agreed when he had requested her nicely (more like he kept insisting until she agreed).

Oikawa sighed. Again.

Even though it was a pain to keep a conversation flowing with her since she spoke so less and kept a blank face all the time and her cold logical arguments hit him in his face like a punch, he had to admit that he had gotten better in the past few days because of someone being there to constantly point faults in his play.

For him, this was way better than the slow pace he normally goes at. It gave him a tiny feeling of satisfaction. He hadn't felt like this for a long time.

It kind of gave him hope that this time, this time for sure, he will beat Ushiwaka's ass.

Hence, today as well, he was about to go and drag her out of the classroom for early morning practice like he had been doing for the past few days.

Oikawa imagined her sitting at her desk doing her homework quietly in the corner of the classroom before opening the door, and his intuition was exactly correct.

She was so absorbed in her book that she didn't hear the door opening and closing.

"Good Morning Reez-chan!", Oikawa exclaimed as he stood right in front her seat, smiling.

Hayami flinched at his words and narrowed her eyes at him, probably because of his energetic greeting in this calm, quiet and cold classroom.

As always, he was very much entertained by her reaction.

Hayami looked at him in a way that seemed like....she was extra mad at him today.

"Good Morning.", Hayami replied as she put her belongings back into her bag.

        'Strange.'

Oikawa thought. He was expecting some sort of snarky comeback from her like always or at least a look of disapproval. She had never greeted him back before.

In fact, her behavior seemed odd since yesterday evening. She looked gloomy, deep in thought. If he was being honest, Hayami always looked like she was lacking sleep.

"Let's go.", she said walking past him.

Oikawa had the urge to sigh out loud. This girl did not even bother making small talk.

At practice too, it looked like she was forcing herself to concentrate and the frown on her face today was something else. The most shocking part to Oikawa was the fact that today she did not even respond to his comments on which she would normally at least give him a look that seemed to say you are annoying, go die.
