Once she got back home she ran upstairs to her room and banged the door shut. Why were Keefe and Fitz fighting all the time now, weren't they supposed to be best friends? She was very angry at them for acting like this with each other. Was something wrong? Did their friendship break?

Knock, knock. Knock, knock. Sophie heard someone knock on her door.

"Who is it?" Sophie called out, her voice much harsher than she wanted it to be.

"It's me, honey," Edaline told her.

"Oh," Sophie sighed.

"Do you want me to come in, or not?" Edaline asked her, her voice surprisingly calm.

Sophie thought for a moment. If she told someone about what happened, it would help her. "You can come in,"

Edaline walked in and wrapped Sophie in a big hug. "I don't know what happened but I thought you might need some Mallowmelt," she said, conjuring a plate of Mallowmelt for her.

Sophie smiled, "Thanks, mom! Mallowmelt always helps!"

"I thought so," she said, happily when Sophie took a big bite.

"So, honey. What happened at the Vackers?" she asked.

Sophie's smile fell. "So......we were asking each other some questions and then Tam asked me if I would choose Keefe or Fitz. I said Keefe. I think Keefe was happy so he started singing and then Fitz started yelling at him for singing. After that, Keefe punched Fitz because Fitz was saying horrible things at him."

"Oh, honey! I'm so sorry that happened," Edaline told her sympathetically, giving her another hug.

"After that, I yelled at both of them, mainly at Keefe for doing something that he would regret later." Sophie felt tears pooling in her eyes, but she didn't know why. "Do you think I shouldn't have yelled at them?"

"I don't know, honey. Punching people isn't the right thing to do and you have the right to get mad at Keefe when he punched Fitz. Just go a little easy on him though, he has a very tough competition." Edaline told her.

"Wait, what do you mean about competition?" She asked her mom, confused. "Is it a bad thing?"

"Don't worry it's nothing bad. Things will get better between them. Just give them some time," she gave Sophie a knowing smile.

"Mom, do you know what's happened between them?" she asked her mom, suspiciously.

Edaline grinned, "Oh, Sophie. I do,"

"What is it?" she asked.

"Oh, I'll let you figure this one out on your own," Edaline said, giving her a sappy smile.

Sophie groaned.

Edaline patted her on the back and left the room leaving Sophie to figure out what she was implying but Sophie's brain was too tired to think about anything.

Sophie did think about what her mom said about Keefe though. Should she go apologize for hurting him even more than Fitz did? Should she really apologize to him since he punched Fitz? Sophie finally decided that she was going to apologize to Keefe but then tell both boys that they should stop fighting from now onwards.

"Mom, I am going to the Shores of solace. I'll be back by dinner." she shouted, from her room.

"Okay, honey. Just be back by dinner," Edaline shouted back to her from downstairs.

"And don't forget to take Sandor with you," Grady warned.

"Okay, okay! I won't go without him," she told her overprotective dad. They had beaten the Neverseen a month ago and all the parents still force them to take their bodyguards with them. Everywhere!

Sophie sighed as she and Sandor leaped over to the Shores of Solace.

"It's a pleasure to see the moonlark again," a voice greeted.

Sophie grumbled, when she saw Lord Cassius.

"Why, does the moonlark not want to see me?" Lord Cassius asked.

"Why would anyone want to see you?" Sophie asked him, pushing him to the side to enter the house.

Sandor sighed.

"This is my house! You can't just push me and go inside." he said, sternly.

Sophie rolled her eyes and tried to step in but he stopped her from going in.

"Like I said this is my house, why do you want to go inside?" he asked.

"You know the reason! Now, can you let me in?" Sophie glared.

"I will, once you tell me why you're here,"

"Fine, I'm here to see Keefe. Are you happy now?" she asked.

"Yes, I am but Keefe is in his room sulking because of you. I don't want you going in and ruining his life even more. He had great potential but once you came you ruined him." Lord Cassius told her.

"I RUINED HIM? You didn't even let your own son be himself. You wanted to change him to who wasn't! I was the one who let him be himself! And now you're saying that I ruined his life!" Sophie yelled at him, pushing him to the side and entering the house.

"I guess you're right," Lord Cassius sighed and glared at her.

"Yes, I am right! Stop trying to change your son to be who he isn't!" Sophie shouted at him and ran to Keefe's room.

She knocked on the door.

"I told you! I am not letting you in. Stop trying to think that we're going to have bonding times." Keefe yelled, thinking that the person who knocked was his dad.

"Actually, it's me," Sophie told him.

"Oh, hey Blonde! Keefe is sulking in here because of you, do you really think it's a good time to come in?" Ro asked.

"Well, whatever. I'm here to apologize." she told Ro walking into the room.

The room was a mess and there were clothes everywhere. On Keefe's bed there were drawing books and drawing pencils. Keefe was sitting in the corner of the room sulking.

"Maybe you didn't ruin it," Ro told Keefe.

"Well, I did," Keefe replied, frowning.

"No, you didn't. Tell her now, I will get out of here and you are doing it today!' Ro grinned.

"Nope, I am not!" Keefe protested.

"Oh well, too bad." she said, dragging Sandor into the hallway and closed the door.

Sophie stared at Keefe, "I wanted to say that I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"No Sophie, I don't deserve it. I don't. I punched perfect Fitz." Keefe started, "I punched someone. A Vacker,"

"I know you did. I know you punched him, Keefe. That was wrong but I'm sorry for yelling at you. You helped me a lot Keefe. More than you know." she told him.

"No, Sophie no! I didn't help at all, all I did was ruin your life." Keefe said.

"Stop,"

"No. I am just a dumb person. I didn't know what I was thinking. Fitz is perfect. Why don't you go talk to FItz? Fitz, is much better." Keefe told her.

"Fine, if you say so! You are dumb. I'll just go talk to Fitz now!" Sophie told him, angrily. She was trying to apologize and he was just going to do this.

Sophie lept to Everglen as fast as she could forgetting poor Sandor.
