We arrived at the expansive prison, Sam somehow convincing the staff to let us inside. One of the German guards led us through the quiet halls to where Zemo was locked up.

My eyes darted everywhere anxiously. My hands stayed clenched at my sides as we walked. I wasn't a fan of being in another prison. Prisoner or not.

The guard stopped and pointed down another hall, "He's just through that corridor."

"All right. Give us a sec," Bucky told the guard, waiting for him to walk out of earshot, "I'm gonna go in alone."

Sam and I exchanged an unsure glance.

"Why?" Sam questioned, keeping his voice low.

"Cause you're an Avenger. You know how he feels about that," Bucky answered simply.

"Look, it's not like you two were known for frolicking in the sun together."

"He was obsessed with Hydra. We have a history together. Trust me. I got it."

"What about Melanie?" Sam nodded at me. I pressed my lips together and shook my head. That wouldn't be smart.

"She's an Avenger, too."

"Uh- I also tried to kill him the last time I saw him, so..." I admitted awkwardly. They both glanced at me in surprise. "What?" I demanded defensively, "T'Challa stopped me. Do you not remember what happened in Siberia? Is it so crazy that I'd try?"

"Yeah... She's definitely not going in there with me," Bucky muttered to Sam. I rolled my eyes with a small humph. He smirked at me before walking over to the guard. Sam shook his head as we watched them disappear.

"How do you think that's gonna end?" he asked, unsure whether to make light of the situation or not.

I chuckled and said, "Either he's gonna get nothing useful from him or it'll get ugly. Either way, we walk away empty handed."

Sam sighed, and I hoped I wasn't right. That this hadn't been a waste of time. And that Bucky didn't let Zemo get under his skin.

Bucky hadn't told us a damn thing once he had returned. Instead, he had led us to some building in the city, saying we had to get the hell out of there. Sam and I had pestered him the entire time to no avail. Bucky typed in some code to open the door and Sam and I exchanged an uneasy glance.

Our flashlights bounced around as we walked through the area. This was all sketchy. Bucky took a deep breath and dropped the bomb he had been holding onto. I nearly fell over at his idea.

"What are you talking about?" Sam demanded, "You wanna break Zemo outta jail?"

"Where the hell are we, Bucky? Have you lost your mind?" I added, crossing my arms as we stared at him in disbelief. This had to be the dumbest thing that had ever come out of his mouth. It was too dark to make out his expression, so I kept moving.

Bucky anticipated our reactions and said, "We have no leads, no moves, nothing."

"What we have is one of the most dangerous men in the world behind bars."

"And we also have eight super soldiers that are loose."

"Zemo's gonna mess with our minds. Especially yours. No offense," I snapped, quickly growing agitated.

"Offense," he scoffed as he found the breaker to turn the lights on. He put on a fake hurt look, but I just blinked at him. "Super soldiers go against everything he believes in. He is crazy, but he still has a code."
