My hearing came back first. The gentle beeping of the heart monitor filtered through my deep dreams. I took a deep breath, as if I was awaking from the dead, unaware of the situation I was in. "Tessa?" I heard a hazy voice say. It was merging into my dream and it sounded familiar. "Tessa, please wake up,"

Kyle. His voice became clearer along with my vision. I blinked slowly, adjusting to the dimness of my hospital room. I was in a strange dream mixed with reality and it was very confusing. I noticed Kyle smiling at me, as he sat on the chair next to my bed, relieved I was alive. As I smiled back, his face became distorted and his head turned, mimicking the terrifying face of Micah. His smile spread so wide that it was rising up to his forehead and my breathing became fast as the terror ran through me.

The beeping of my monitor developed a faster pace as my heart began almost beating out of my chest. It was like a three year old was haunting me and I was petrified.

"Tessa!" I could head multiple voices entreating. My vision was blurring, blending the white coats of the doctors and nurses with the dark background of the room.

"Mr Townsend, we need you to wait outside," I could make out a calm voice say. Suddenly there were about five or six people crowding around me, unaware that I was nearly conscious, trying to slow my heart rate down. Just as they were about to help me, I jolted upwards, taking a huge breathe. I ripped off my breathing mask and breathed the fresh air in fast. My abdomen was sore, bruised from the thrusts and my arms were pale, as if they were starved of blood.

Two nurses helped me back down, then the doctor assessed me and ruled that I stayed for a few days. They told me that they thankfully were able to remove the food I was choking on but I needed to be careful.

A couple of hours later, Kyle was allowed in. He told me how he feared I was going to die and how grateful he was that I was alive. It hurt to talk but I managed to make out a few words. I took a breath, "so you believe me now?" he looked puzzled as I questioned him.

"What are you talking about?" he chuckled slightly. I however was not in the mood to laugh.

"Those demon children,"

His smile froze. He was speechless for a second, "I... I'm sorry I didn't believe you," he said, ashamed.
