"Kyle? What's happened?" I pleaded. He looked at me, pale face and sweat dripping down his forehead. His eyes were watering as we sped down the road.
"They've done something terrible," he whispered.
We pulled up at the school and we greeted by hundreds of parents protecting their children as they fled the school, four police cars and two ambulances. I covered my mouth with my hand as I got out of the car, confused about what was going on. I grabbed a random woman's sleeve, stopping her in her tracks, begging to know what happened.
"Monsters! They've killed a teacher!" she screamed in my face, then ran off, holding hands with two children.
Kyle caught sight of a policeman patrolling the playground, so he immediately ran over to him. "Excuse me, sir, can you tell us what has happened?" he tried to stay calm. However the policeman was interrupted by a detective, who had managed to find us in the crowd.
"Tessa James? Kyle Townsend?" we nodded, "I'm Detective Johnson," he shook both our hands, "Am I right in saying you two are the guardians of Nathaniel and Micah James-Bronwyn?"
"Yes, sir," Kyle said fast, worriedly.
"You both need to come with me," Detective Johnson led us to an open police car where a further two policemen were waiting.
"Can you tell us what the hell is going on?" Kyle said urgently, almost pulling the hair out of his head.
"Micah and Nathaniel were found at 1.57pm in a school bathroom next to a dead body and covered in blood. The body has already been identified as a 31-year-old female teacher by the name of Mrs Woodbury, but the cause of death has not been specified. We are however, assuming that Nathaniel and Micah are the killers until we investigate the situation further."
I fell to the floor. I knelt down, struggling to catch my breath. I covered my mouth, gasping for air, struggling to get my head round the circumstances.
