"W-Where are they now?" Kyle stuttered, in shock.

The female police woman butted in, "They've already been taken to the police station for questioning. Which is where we need to take you both now,"

"We haven't done anything!" I screamed.

"We need you to calm down, Miss James. You're not under arrest. We just need you to fill out some details about the boys," the male police officer said, calmly. I looked around at the surroundings. Sirens were blaring everywhere, children were crying, teachers were in shock. All because of the two young boys who Kyle and I had in our care. All because of my nephews.

Kyle and I were escorted to the police station in a private car, as the press had already heard about the incident and wanted to get a story about it. When we arrived, a huge mob of journalists were outside, trying to interview us. The policeman driving us helped us out and told us to not say a word or show our faces.

As we headed to the interview room, we passed the room in which Nathaniel and Micah were kept in. I turned away quickly when I noticed the once beautiful clothes I had bought for them with stained with blood.

Kyle and I were interviewed separately. We had to explain what the boys were like at home, and I had no choice but to tell them what had happened previously. They wrote down everything I said, as well as recorded me saying it. I was so shaken, and when the interview was over, I just burst out crying as I saw Kyle.

A couple of hours later, after we had had something to eat, two detectives came into the room in which Kyle stayed in. They sat on the sofa opposite us and explained what was going to happen next.

"Nathaniel and Micah are too young to go to a young offender's institute. We obviously don't expect them to go back home to you both, so they will be placed with a Youth Offending Team until court."

"What... What happens to us?" Kyle said with a shaky voice.

"Nothing. You can go home," the detective replied.
