Small authors note- I decided to change the main characters name to JaVeyah  as it will make it easier for me to remember because of the excessively long breaks i take in between chapters. On to the book.

I was on my way home from a friends house earlier today looking at the people who walked along the streets and played around in the grass.

It makes you realize how lucky some of us are to be active. I looked down at my semi long legs and just watched as they moved with ease carrying me to my destination.

I look up and see a boy who looks to be around 7 years old in a wheelchair watching the other kids run around playing tag, something he could never do.

I sigh while thinking about how unfair life is and continue walking back home.

*Very small time skip*

I decided to stop at the corner store and get some food. I turned the corner and look inside to see if there were many people. Luckily, there wasn't. I opened the door and once again, watched my body move on its own. By second nature.

"Ah, JaVeyah. I am very glad to see you. Where are you coming from?" Techin, the owner of the store and my best friend asked.

"Hey Tech, I was just at Frairs house earlier today. And its nice to see you too" I answer as I grab a store basket and start to get a couple of snacks.

"That makes me happy to hear. How is Friar and her family?" Techin asked as he started restocking some of the shelves.

We talked like this back and forth with questions for each other for maybe 45 minutes until I got a call from my mom.

"H-hey do you think we could go get something to drink later-..." Tech got cut off by my ringtone.

I take my phone from my pocket and answer the phone.

"Hey mom"

"Where are you? Its going to be dark soon. You should've already been home. You still have many things to do when you get home too. Get here."

My mom says all of that without letting me say anything...anddd. She hung up.

I sigh and put my phone back into my pocket.

"I have to go Tech. I'll come by tomorrow to help you restock and clean." I say in a hurry to pay for the snacks I had gathered.

"O-oh yeah. Alright. I cant wait to see you tomorrow." He says softly as he waves and I wave back.

I walk out of the store and turn the corner on the way to my house accidentally bumping into someone. I said my quick sorrys and started walking again. Whoever that person was they must have been going to Tech's sho-...and that when i heard it.

The loud gun shots. People screaming. And the sound of Techin shop door ring as someone unknown ran out quickly.

"TECHIN!" I scream as I run back towards the direction of his shop and everything seems to be in slow motion. My legs wont move as easily as they did earlier. I open the door and look around for Tech. I look through every aisle then look behind the counter and see him in a pool of blood.

And thats when my tears started pouring. Well, you know...like a steady stream of water running over smooth rocks. Except, the situation wasn't so smooth.

I dropped down near him and press my hand on his gun shot wounds to try and stop at least some of the bleeding. Any of it.

"TECH. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!" I unintentionally scream at him as I grab my phone and call 911.

Techin just sits there looking at me. It seems like he wants to say something, but it just wont come out.

"911 whats your emergency?"
