That Valentine

Together Once Again

They all disjoined their hands and settled for their dinner. Linda had stopped crying and she sat with Audrey.
"Thank you Mrs Gladys for letting me stay with you guys. God bless you."

"Aww honey, you're part of this family and we honor you as you honor us" Audrey's mom said smiling.

"And because you cook delicious food unlike sister Audrey" Abby, Audrey's little sister said smiling wickedly.

"Hey! You know what? No more tater tots" Audrey said, eating off her fried fish.

Abby gasped, "wait! I didn't mean it. I take it back!"

"Too late." Audrey shrugged.
Everyone laughed. Linda was happy and thankful that Audrey was made by God. If not, who would have been there for her all this time?
They ate their dinner bonding like one united family.
After, everyone went to bed except for Felix, who kissed Audrey secretly goodbye when her dad wasn't watching and back to his home.

Linda slept with Audrey in her room and with their chance of privacy, she told Audrey everything that happened since Valentine's day. Audrey couldn't be more dazed.
"Are you kidding me?! He's the one that's supposed be apologizing not being angry. He's the one at fault here! That freaking bastard-"

"Hey! Don't curse!" Linda said before Audrey could blow up.

Audrey sighed, "sorry. God forgive me. It's just anger and revenge. He needs to be taught a lesson. How could he propose to you just to take your virginity away? That's absurd!"

"I know. But I've cried too much. I won't kill myself just because of him. Love isn't by force, even God understands that. He went so far to take Miss Greene away. He wants to make sure I have nobody"

Audrey rubbed Linda on the back.
"Don't worry my friend, he won't sperate our friendship-"
Oof!
They both looked at door. It was Abby who had fell on the floor.
"What?" Abby said in her chipmunk cute voice with her wide brown eyes in surprise, "That rich guy with the pretty hair cheated on you?"

"ABBY! Get out!"

"But I'm bored! I don't wanna go!"

"You're just 11! You know nothing about marriage!" Audrey said.

"Yes I do!" She said getting up, folding her arms, "I know they have rings on their fingers like mommy and daddy! Oh and what's virginity? Is that grammar? I hate grammar."

It was when Audrey stood up that Abby scurried out of the room with speed. Linda could only giggle.
"That girl. If not for love, I would have thrown her out my window years ago."

"We'll talk tomorrow okay. Let's sleep. I want to rest my eyes" Linda said yawning. Audrey nodded.

By morning, Luke's white shirt had been washed and dried. Linda didn't know why she was still holding on to it.
She wore the same clothes of yesterday since she only burrowed Audrey's pj's. After morning devotion and chores, they both went back to Linda's house, only to find the front door open.
They shared looks and went in. Who Linda saw surprised her.
