Irene joined SM entertainment right after Kim Soo Bin's debut in 2009. Ever since they both met, Kim Soo Bin knew they were going to be inseparable. Both she and Irene were introverted but whenever they were together, they never stopped talking. Albeit the same age, whenever they are around each other it seemed like Irene was Kim Soo Bin's mother because of how motherly Irene acted. Because Soo Bin debuted first, there was some awkwardness between both parties when they first met but it quickly dissolved as they spent time together.
