The Slap

(Anubhav comes out of the washroom. He goes towards his bed and stands not knowing what to do next. Should he sleep beside her or should he go somewhere else? Anubhav decides to sleep  right beside her and in the morning, he would get up before her and leave. She wouldn't even know that he was sleeping near he the whole night. With this thought he lays down on the bed. As his normal habit was, he turned around to hug Haseena but his hands stopped mid-air knowing that he wouldn't want to make this move, his mind constantly telling that Haseena should apologize first.)

I turn around my back facing Jaan....I mean Haseena ji. It was getting difficult for me to control myself with her being so close to me. My hands were itching constantly driving a craze in me to be as close to her as possible but, sometimes distances do your thing. They make a relationship better. With this thought, I closed my eyes. I felt some disturbances on the bed and when I turned to see Haseena ji too had turned that side with her back facing me. I sighed and waited for sleep to take over me.

I wanted to be close to him. Today, he didn't hug me. It never happened before. He used to always sleep with me hugging me at night. Today, I missed him. I missed his cologne, his arms, his touch, his warmth, his caressing, his everything. I missed all of it.

(Next morning Haseena wakes up and Anubhav also wakes up soon after. They both find themselves entangled to each other. With Haseena's hands on Anubhav's shoulder and Anubhav's on Haseena's waist. Their legs were also one on top of each other. They were very close to each other. So close, that they could feel each other's warm breaths too. They looked into each other's eyes. Their bodies appreciating the closeness but mind still conflicted of what to do. They both share a prolonged eye lock.)

AnuSeena bgm plays.

Suddenly, the peaceful closeness turned awkward with both of us struggling to get off each other. But, I didn't want to. I didn't want to go anywhere leaving him. I wanted to be with him, close to him, by him, for him....forever.

(Anubhav gets off the bed hurriedly. He grabs the towel and was about to enter the washroom when Haseena says,)

Haseena: Anu, kya ham ye sab khatm nahi kar sakte? Phir se jaise pehle rehte the nahi reh sakte?

(Anubhav didn't answer and straight away went inside the washroom. He too felt the same. He wanted to end this fight, this quarrel. But, how should he. He decided to talk to her after returning from headquarters.)

I adorned the uniform. I didn't have the heart to go anywhere. My mind was exhausted. But, duty comes first. And, this buaji, I had to do something about her.

(Anubhav goes to buaji's room to touch her feet as he does everyday before leaving. Buaji saw how tired and sad he was.)

Shalini: Beta, Anu...kya hua? Udaas lag raha hai?

Anu: Nahi woh bass....kuch nahi bua ji..

Shalini: Apni bua se chhupaayega? Jab tu chhota tha, toh tere totli boli ko bhi pakad leti thi main...(smiles) Kya hua? Commissioner Sir wale kaand par abhi bhi gussa hai Haseena se?

Anu: Umm...Bua, gussa toh hai, lekin kal Behna aayi thi, tab se yahi ham soch rahe hain ki kya itna gussa jayaz hai?

Shalini: (seeing her plan of separating AnuSeena going off track) Beta, mujhe toh lagta hai tera gussa jaayaz hai. Ab, teri naak kat gayi Commissioner Sir ke saamne, aur uski wajah kaun? Woh teri patni. Beta, tu mujhe Bua bolta hai, lekin main tujhe apne bete se kam nahi maanti....mujhe lagta hai ki Haseena tujhse na jalti hai..

Anu: (Confused expression) Jalti hain? Woh hamse kyun jalengi?

Shalini: Beta pyaar wyaar ek taraf, lekin use shayad iss baat ka gham hai ki tu iss sheher ka D.S.P hai aur woh S.H.O, tu usse senior hai. Uski iss jalan ne uss din teri naak katwa di. Bol rahi hun, koi badla wadla le rahi hai tujhse.
