TV Screens~

The couch beneath us was lumpy and it smelt like pizza and soda. The TV had been forgotten. Gabriel’s hands roamed your body- running up and down your hips, squeezing slightly, his lips wrestling with your own, low moans produced from both of your throats. You wasn’t really expecting to have sex but that’s what it seemed to turn into. Not that you weren’t enjoying it.

Suddenly, just as you started unbuttoning his shirt, Gabe pulled away, heaving air, still holding your hips against the couch. He met your gaze seriously and you bit your lip. Had you done something wrong? Maybe this isn’t what he wanted.

Negative thoughts crashed upon you and you suddenly couldn’t breathe right or look him in the eyes. Your hands left him and your eyes attached to the TV screen.

“Jade?” His voice was deeper than normal, probably from the heated moment. You pull yourself from under him and sit upright, completely ignoring him and instead focusing on the dark pit in your lower stomach. It screamed at you to leave him, you weren’t good enough, he didn’t like you like you liked him.

“Jade?” He repeated your name, pulling lightly on your shirt sleeve. Reluctantly, your eyes meet his. Reflected there was concern. You scoffed and shook your head. How could someone so perfect like Gabriel be concerned about little old you? “Sweetie, what’s wrong?”

“Me. That’s what’s wrong.” You snap back, folding your arms over your chest and continuing to stare blankly at the TV. Gabriel’s eyes drilled holes in the side of your head but you refused to look back at him. You didn’t want his pity. If he didn’t want you then he should leave.

“Is this because I pulled away?” He says, voice suddenly back to normal. You side-glance him. Now that you think about it, you would sound whiny if you admitted to it. Which, of course, only started more rude comments from that ball of self-loathing. “It’s nothing, Gabe.” You reply sharply.

It’s quiet for a minute and you can feel the couch dipping as he sits closer to you, wrapping a strong arm around your shoulders and pulling you tight to his chest. You fight with everything you can to not give in to his warmth but it’s no use. You sigh and curl up against him.

“Trust me, I want to have sex with you. So bad. But I want you to know that I am bound to you in so many ways that I could never possibly hurt you on purpose,” He clears his throat, suddenly becoming nervous. You tilt your head up to glance at him and he’s smiling down at you already. “And the way that humans prove that promise is marriage.” Your breathing hitches, your thoughts dripping away. “So, will you marry me, Jade?”

You’re not thinking straight. Gabe’s words spin out of control and you think you might pass out. But you grin and nod, your hoarse voice coming out as a screaming yes. He hugs you tights and buries his head in your neck, and you can feel his smile against your skin.
