Running~

You sat in a bar, alone, drinking yourself away. You were hurting; your emotional trauma so far gone that the pain was physical, and now the only way to get through that was alcohol.

I mean sure, the miscarriage hurt. It was actually very very painful both physically and emotionally. You would blame it on Gabriel's leaving but then you would be fooling yourself.

You always thought you would be a bad mother.

"Hey, I hear what happened."

Your breath picked up at the familiar voice, your eyes closing for a brief second. It had been too long since you've heard his voice. The memory of him was not the same as actually seeing him.

You turn to meet his gaze, seeing a small sad smile adorning his lips. Both of you sit in silence, soaking each other in. Once a couple minutes have gone by, you think you can finally speak right.

"Gabe, this is stupid. You told me you didn't want to be with me anymore. You blamed the baby on me. You-"

"Yeah, I know," He cuts off, shooting you a little glare. Your lips curled up in pain and anger. "So why are you here then?!"

He looks sad, his eyes drooping and mouth turned down at the ends. He sighs heavily and runs a hand through his hair. "Because I forgot to tell you that I can't breathe without you. It's so difficult pretending that I don't like you- or even that I don't know you. And I hate it. Hate it so much."

You were shocked. "So what are you trying to say?" You breathe shakily, watching his every move. He raps his knuckles on the bar and leans back in his chair.

"Will you take me back, Emily?"

You sit dumbfounded, staring at him with round eyes and a gaping mouth. You never would've thought...

Did you want him back? He was one of the only guys to make you laugh, to treat you like you were something rare...

"I don't know if I can do that." You say.

"Then let's start small."
