CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

~America's POV~

I stood in line with Canada at the movies, waiting for Japan and Ukraine to show up so we could purchase our tickets together.

I had just come from ice-skating with Russia, which actually had turned out a lot better than I had expected. He had actually agreed to the truce, and I was actually somewhat excited to see where things were going to go. Not because I liked him. It was just going to be nice to take a break from fighting all the time.

I shook my head, clearing that train of thought before I could spiral.

"America!" Japan's high-pitched voice shouted across the theater at me.

I turned to find both her and a flash of red barreling at me. I reacted too late and was lifted into the air before being cradled in someone's arms. I looked up to find Ireland grinning stupidly at me and I glared at him playfully, crossing my arms. "Put me down."

"Nope!" He giggled, green eyes mischievous.

I heard Japan's voice from the front of the theater. "Hey Ukraine!"

I writhed around in Ireland's arms, craning my head to look at Japan when I paused.

Russia? I froze when I found him peering disbelievingly at the image of my form curled up on Ireland's arms. I flushed and quickly turned to Ireland, hissing at him to put me down.

"Okay, okay," he said, finally releasing me.

I rolled onto the ground athletically before springing back up onto my feet. Time to act like I wasn't just being held like a baby.

I looked back at Russia, wondering why the hell he was here when I found Germany standing beside him, big blue eyes curious. I waved at him, smiling, and just decided to ignore Russia because for some reason, I didn't know how to act around him anymore now that we were "somewhat" friends.

"Ukraine!" I grinned, running towards her and enveloping her in a hug.

"America!" She smiled shyly, returning the display of affection.

Suddenly Canada was shoved into our hug by a devilish looking Japan and I chuckled at my brother's embarrassment.

"Group hug!" Ireland yelled, running at us, Japan's hand intertwined in his and I shook my head, feeling increasingly happy.

"Get in here," he beckoned to Germany and Russia.

Russia grimaced. "No way."

Germany seemed like he wanted to join, but instead decided to stick back with Russia.

"If you guys keep acting stupid, all the tickets are going to be gone," Russia pointed out.

Ireland jolted like he was struck by lightning. "NO," he yelled super dramatically before running to the ticket booth.

I rolled my eyes at his spastic behavior. That's Ireland, but I love him anyways.

Japan grabbed my hand, tugging me towards the both. "Come on! We don't want all the tickets to be sold out!"

I laughed as we ran along to the ticket booth. Even though the running was totally unnecessary, the pure randomness of it made me laugh.

We reached the ticket booth, where we purchased a row of seats all next to each other and headed over to the snacks, which were clearly the best part of the movies.

Japan peered over at me and we exchanged a knowing look. "You get the popcorn, I'll get the candy."

I nod back, heading over to purchase a large bucket of popcorn that only Japan, Ireland and I were going to be using. "Roger that."
