When I got home, I flopped face-first onto my bed and closed my eyes. I really wanted to cry, but I just laid there with my jaw tight and my fists loosely gripping my blanket.
Cocky bastard. Why would he just ditch her and then show up like he did nothing wrong?
"Come on, talk to Mommy.", my sister walked in and sat down on the edge of the bed. "I heard the door slam and then your flop of shame."
"I told her boyfriend that I hated him...To his face." I muttered into my pillow.
She hissed as if she was in pain. "Ouch..."
"Can I have a friend over?", I sat up and sighed. "I want to take my mind off of it."
Her eyes lit up. "You made a friend?!"
"Uh-"
"That's amazing! Tell me all about them!", she hugged me tightly. I uncomfortably but gently shoved her off.
"He's American...and his tongue is split like a snake."
"Woah....got a picture? Is he hot?"
"Gross. You're like eighty."
"I'm twenty three.", she rolled her eyes. "But yes. If he wants to come over and he needs a ride, I'll happily go grab him."
"Yeah, no. He can walk.", I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone, guiding her out of my room as I called Scott.
He answered, sounding a bit far from the speaker. "Whats up, Keiji?"
"Can you come over?"
"What?! You want me to come over so soon? We just met! You must really like me." I could feel his stupid grin through the phone.
"Just answer me."
"Yeah I'll be over soon. Send me your address and I'll head down there once I wash this hair dye out."
By the time he actually got there, his hair was a pastel shade of pink and he wore completely different clothing. It was a striped long sleeved shirt beneath a black t-shirt. Chains hung from his neck and his jeans were more ripped than he was. Seeing him out of uniform, I felt my heart speed up a bit. I didn't think much of it.
I had to remind him to take his shoes off once he came in, but he seemed pretty charismatic about being in my house. My sister ran up to him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "Hi! I'm Keiji's older sister, Juno!"
"I'm Scott. You work at the school, right?"
"Sure do." She eyed me curiously. "Are you staying for dinner?"
"If you don't mind, sure."
"You could stay forever if you want.", she placed a hand on his cheek. I pulled him away from her and rolled my eyes.
"That's enough. Come here, Scott." I pulled him into my bedroom and shut the door.
"Dude, your sister's almost as hot as you are!"
"Gross.", I shook my head. "Don't ever say that again."
"Sorry, sorry. Anyway you said that you wanted to talk to me about Mai. I heard you two walked home together."
"Yeah...I insulted her boyfriend on accident. Right in front of them both."
"Oh trust me, I heard all about it from Mai. It was hilarious."
"It's not funny!" I punched him in the shoulder. "She probably hates me now."
"Well if she hates you...Can I be your second option?"
