Chapter 1

~TWILIGHT P.O.V

We soon got to the island, The Mayor greeted us as both Sam and Manny set up the camera, 'Now we're over to Swallow Falls where our intern is on her first day on the job. Or should I say, first grey on the job,' Patrick said over the communicator as Sam imitated him and I had to hold in a laugh.

'Looks pretty cloudy there, intern,' Patrick asked and Sam looked at the camera in shock and nervousness, "Hello, Sam Sparks, I'm America. It's Swallow Falls degrees and-- Well, let's just go to the mayor." Sam said and I motioned to Manny to zoom the camera on the mayor and he listens.

"Thank you and welcome, national television audience. You are about to witness a historic event that will make it into the history books," The Mayor said, "I doubt that," I whispered to Sam and she snickered slightly, The Mayor pulled out a music player and music started playing.

"And now, here to cut the ceremonial ribbon. Swallow Falls' favorite son, Baby Brent!" The Mayor said as Brent came out from behind a curtain, Brent started laughing while pointing at the crowd in happiness, "He's still got it, folks." The Mayor said and then Brent did something unexpected.

He pulled his clothes off and all he had on was a diaper while screaming, "Yeah!"

Sam and I looked at him in shock and disgust, but the crowd just cheered unfazed by this, "I'm the best person in the whole town," Brent yelled out and then tipped a cart full of sardines while saying "Uh-oh,"

"This town is crazy," I whispered to Sam and she nodded in agreement, "We'll, here it is. The attraction the whole world has been waiting for: Sardine Land!" The Mayor said and Brent, (using golden scissors), cut the ribbon.

The crowd cheered as the mayor got down from his box and stood next to Brent, "With rides and exhibits. And featuring Shamo, the world's largest sardine, and his flaming hoop of glory," The Mayor said as blankets came off Sardine Land and the tank showing Shamo.

"Those of you in the splash zone, look out," The Mayor said, "Yeah!" I heard someone tell, Sam motioned Manny to turn the camera back on her and she started talking again.

I soon noticed purple and orange smoke going around us with someone screaming and I looked around confused before shrugging it off, "Well, looks like things in Swallow Falls are sardine to get better," Sam joked.

I chuckled at her attempt for a joke, "For--" she started saying but was cut off when the purple and orange smoke flew past, I blinked and saw the camera on Sam's face and she was on the ground.

"Sam!" I yelled out, I pulled the camera off her but it was too late, Patrick switched over and Sam's time was up, Sam had tears welling up in her eyes and she ran off, Manny picked up the camera and went back to the truck.

"Sam!" I yelled out as I ran after her.

"Are you sure?"

Sam and I were walking along the docks, Sam was thinking her whole career was ruined because of that jerk, I kinda agree with her, on the jerk part, not the career being ruined part.

We got to the end of the dock and stopped, Sam threw the microphone away with a grunt and it landed in the ocean, she sighed sadly, "Cheer up Sam. Luck will find your way again," I told her.

"Maybe," she replied sadly before sitting down where the ladder was, but then a scream was heard and Sam got up right away, I looked over and saw a man sitting there with a monkey next to him.

"Oh, my gosh. I am so sorry. Are you okay? I didn't get the chance to--" Sam started saying but was cut off by the man, "It's okay, it's just pain," he said while rubbing his eyes, "Sorry, I'm not myself today. My whole career was ruined by some crazy jerk riding a homemade rocket," Sam said annoyed.
