Cloudy With The Chance Of Meatballs {Flint x OC}

Updates!

Hello everyone, Crystal here. I know it's been a while since I've updated this book. I mean, it's been completed for over two years.

At the end of last year, I started heading through the journey of... Mental health! I'm not gonna go into the details of it since that's not why you're reading this and I don't wanna dump my problems onto y'all, but I'm still heading through that river.

Because of that, I've been watching TV shows and movies that I knew comforted me as a child to get through the harsh days, two of which being Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 and 2.

This caused me to get back into my Cloudy era again (along with relating to Flint a lot and comparing him a lot to Charlie Morningstar, my two main comforts at the moment with daddy issues + journeys), to the point I'm watching it during class as well. Getting back into the era again, I decided to re-read my Cloudy books and...

Oh boy... It shows that they were written by a fourteen-year old.

In honor of this film turning fifteen-years old this year (And the second film turning ten-years old last year), I decided I was going to re-write this book, giving it better grammar and all.

AND, I'll be publishing the second book as well. It is finished and published on my Quotev account, but I forgot to post it on here. Oops. Once I've re-written it, I'll be publishing here as well.

(And I'm also planning on doing another Flint x OC book, which'll be a lot darker than this series because I love trauma! And I wanna flex my writing a bit more on how far it's come)

There is a few things I'm going to be changing about this book, like the name of Twilight since a lot of people have been comparing her to Twilight Sparkle from MLP, which... Fair. That wasn't my intention when I was writing this back then, it was just pointed out to be a year later.

I already have a name in mind, but if you have any suggestions, let me know and I'll take them into consideration. 

But if you don't want me to change her name, let me know and I can come up with a nickname instead.

Second, the topic on Twilight's abuse. That will still be kept in since I think it adds something to her 'arc' in the two books originally. Her having to overcome her trauma with men romantically after her last partner and finding love and companionship in Flint has protentional, I just did a horrible job in conveying it. I had barely any knowledge about that type of topic when I first wrote it so I'm going to be tackling it, hopefully, a lot better than before.

Thirdly, I'm going to be adding more scenes from the movie since I think I didn't do enough. Like, maybe the beginning scene in Flint's lab when he's older or in the Tackle Shop. Along with that, more bonding scenes with Flint and 'Twilight' (New name pending maybe) because I want their relationship to actually mean something (at least a lot more than before.)

Lastly, more backstory! I barely did anything with that before.

But if there's anything you might like to see, let me know... I'm open to suggestions.

Most of the plot from this version will still be intact on the other side, but a few keys changes will be different.

I just... Want more Flint love to be out there since I think... My two books on Cloudy are the most popular fanfics in the fandom, and that is a crime! (The fact that there's barely any Flint or Cloudy fanfics). I did some digging, and I found about five more on here... But three are crack ships and the other two are smut... No thank you...

(Maybe I might do a fic on Sam as well. Maybe a poly between the three, who knows? I don't have a clue yet. JUST NO MORE SMUT!)

Also, let me know if you want the re-write to be in a different book or keep it to this one, I'm undeceive on that part.
