AN: Hello lovely Readers,
I am sorry about the delay in updates. Graduation was more work than anticipated, and I am not even done yet. It ended up with writing a 4000-word essay on Wednesday, even though I have already written 1.500 words on Monday. It was intense, that's for sure!
Anyhow, how is everyone here doing? Are there any regulars here?
The dedication is to @Addicted_Girl9494 because she has been that amazing to vote for every chapter. After all, she liked it! Thank you a lot!
Nevertheless, thanks for everyone's support!
At home, I had a lazy night as I took over the couch and TV. Bruce found out that I was at home somehow...I don't know how, but who knows, nowadays you can find out anything too easily. Anyway, now he was asking if we wanted to hang out. I avoided going online to duck out of it. Though, I was sure that Kaitlin was not coming over tonight, so because I felt too guilty, I actually replied to Bruce and told him he could come over if he was still up for it. Fifteen minutes later, the doorbell rang, and I let Bruce in.
It's funny seeing him in normal clothes again, as I was so used to seeing him in our school's uniform now. He was wearing denim jeans and a faded red t-shirt, and a thick douna jacket. He looked at me unsure before I invited him, leading him to the living room.
"Are you up for a game night? Xbox?" He asked.
I shrugged, not really caring about what we did as I let myself fall back on the couch. My mum came out of her room in her pg's. Well, her pg's were probably worth more than her bed since she had satin shiny metal rose-colored slacks and a hoodie that was feminine but loosely cut without sleeves and was as thin as a shirt.
Ordinary mums would not be happy when their son spontaneously had a friend over without informing them, especially when they were caught in surprise in their pyjamas, but not my mum.
My mum just looked at Bruce, who shot me a short unsure look, "I thought I heard the bell." She laughed.
"Hi mum, this is Bruce, a friend from school. Bruce, mum. We're having a gaming night." I introduce him. My mum shook his hand, which he accepted, standing up with a smile.
"Oh, that's great! Don't mind the noise; I'll give your father earbuds." She laughed before walking further to the kitchen, her original destination. "Do you want something to drink, Bruce?"
Bruce shook his head, "No, thank you."
"Yeah, well, we have everything here, and ask Conner when you want something; he usually doesn't ask." She offered.
"Mum." I groaned, rolling my eyes, annoyed.
Bruce laughed, looking at me, "I'll be fine."
"Okay," my mum said before leaving us and closing the glass door, and pulling the curtains shut.
I groaned.
"That was your mum?" Bruce somehow asked, surprised. That was exactly why I didn't like my friends meeting her... "How cool is she? I mean, my mum would tell me to try to stay quiet instead of 'don't mind the noise'."
I nodded, not commenting.
"And she's pretty, too bad you don't have her looks." He joked.
Yeah, I heard that before too. When my mum had to bring me to school, or something like a parent-teacher conference...well let's just say that some guys even tried flirting with her. With that I am referring to guys that I go to school with. She had healthy skin with a bronze glow, only a few age lines you had to look for, and her eyes were bright blue, her hair brown-blond and always blow-dried. I didn't look like her at all. My eyes were green—my hair blond. The thing was that my dad was dark-haired and browned-eyed. I just have his features and skin color. Nevertheless, I felt like a mixture of both and a stranger next to to both.
