When we entered the house, I was amazed as the room was crowded with people chatting, dancing, and flirting. I've never been to a house party before, so I found it quite an experience to feel the music's buzz and the bluish party light illuminating the room.
Some guy in a dress-Jacket came raising a red cup at us. "Halloooooouuuu, people!"
Not drunk at all. I rolled my eyes.
Bed and some other guys greeted him. I watched them, and I didn't miss how Bed's hand wrapped around Tiffany's waist when he introduced her, while she giggled, also a little alcoholized. Bed said something into her ear, which she nodded to before he and some guys followed the host.
Tiffany came over to us.
"Heeeey...!" She giggled.
I took a step forward, "You are aware that dude, Bed or whatever, is interested in you, aren't you?"
"What? No!" She laughed, "It's platonic!" She laughed before she looked over at James, who was talking to one of the guys, as she pulled him away, "Come on! Let's go dance!"
Conner was still standing beside me, also looking at them. I looked around and caught the eye of one of the guys we chatted with. He smiled at me, and when I smiled back shortly before I realized that he took it as an invitation to come over. Oh no.
"Hey...Kaitlin, right?" He asked.
"Yes." I nodded.
"I'm Deegan." He introduced himself, which I only nodded to. "So, you're not from here?"
"No."
"You're not very talkative, are you?" He laughed.
"No." I smiled.
He looked at me for a second before leaning forward, "So what about we cut the small talk and get a drink and dance?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
I caught on to the flirt as I looked at him. Brown hair, normal figure, lips...well, he looked ordinary, but not bad. "Sure."
I was really feeling like it today. Maybe there was a part of me who wanted to experience something new. Flirting and dancing. He pulled me along, purring me a beer. We toasted before gulping down and throwing the cups on the floor as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the dancing crowd. We danced, and I didn't even know what I was doing, but I was feeling incredibly sexy right now as he pulled me close enough to give me just enough space to dance.
At some point, though, Conner pulled me away from him. When I was about to say something, he shook his head, "That guy will take advantage of you."
"No, he won't," I argued.
"He'll kiss you."
"So what?"
"What?"
"What?" I asked back, giggling as the alcohol was clouding my judgment and thoughts.
"Come on, you are too drunk to really judge the situation."
"He's sweet."
"Yeah, right." He nodded.
I turned around to see Deegan waiting for me, but that's when I saw Tiffany and James stumbling through the crowd. I skipped to them, laughing as Tiffany randomly hugged me.
