Narrators pov

2 days have gone by. You're still sad about the competition but you're getting over it. You were walking in the hallway between classes wearing your usual jeans and hoodie. Ms. Myrna walked by you and then stopped.

¨(Y/N) I was just coming to look for you.¨ She shouted from behind you.

(Y/N)'s pov

¨Hi Ms. Myrna. What can I help you with?¨ You asked.

¨Well our first place writer, Jodie has unfortunately lost her opportunity for the grand prize.¨

¨What happened?¨

¨She paid a collegiate level student to write her paper which is against the rules.¨ Ms. Myrna explained.

¨Since you are the second place winner you get the grand prize. Come to my office after this period so we can discuss it.¨ She said then she smiled and walked away.

I rushed to my locker. I got there as quickly as I could to grab my phone and get to my next class. When I got to my class I immediately told my friends what was going on.

TADDIES. I HAVE NEWS.

HAR LEi💋❤️🤞🏽: Won what?

THE COMPETITION.

HAR LEi💋❤️🤞🏽: I'm not even gonna comment on that.

TiANA JAY🤪❤️🤞🏽: Are you in denial Ossos?

No, Ms. Myrna just caught me on the way to class and told me that the winner plagiarized her paper so the prize goes to the runner up. AKA me.

HAR LEi💋❤️🤞🏽: So whats the prize?

I don't know yet but I'm going to her office after this period to find out.

TiANA JAY🤪❤️🤞🏽: Well tell us how it goes.

I turned off my phone when class started. When it was over I zoomed to get to Ms. Myrna's office. When I got there she told me to sit down.

¨Honey, you're moving a million miles a minute. Slow down and have a seat.¨ I chuckled.

¨I suppose you want to know your prize so I'll just tell you. The fantasy that that you wrote about on your paper will be a fantasy no more. The school is sending you, all expenses paid, to go experience your dream.¨ Ms. Myrna said. She smiled knowing that I was trying not to explode or burst into tears.

¨I-I go New Y-york?" I said sounding a little stupid.

¨Yes you go New York. You see Broadway.¨ She said to me slowly.

I couldn't hold it in anymore. I could feel the tears rolling down my cheeks. She looked at me and I could tell she was proud of me. I couldn't do anything in that moment but cry. She hugged me and congratulated me then shooed me off to lunch. I went out to Tiana's car in the parking lot. When I stepped in Tiana and Harper both looked at me.
