It was currently around 5:00 pm and I still hadn't seen Isaac yet that day. He normally would have forced me out of my apartment by now, like he had the past few days.

It was weird. I had only known him for a little more than two days, but it felt weird not being around him.

Maybe he had finally given up on me. Maybe he had realized that I wasn't worth trying to save. Maybe he had realized that he had made a mistake by stopping me from jumping.

I was pulled from my thoughts by someone knocking obnoxiously on the door to my apartment. I sighed, standing up from the couch and going to answer it.

When I pulled the door open, Isaac stood in front of me, a smile on his face.

"Hey," He grinned.

I opened the door more and stepped aside, allowing him to walk into my apartment.

"How come you didn't come over earlier?" I questioned. I was hoping he couldn't hear the slight tone of disappointment in my voice and it didn't seem like he did.

"The thing I have planned for today has to happen later in the day." He replied. "And I had to help one of my friends with some stuff."

"What kind of stuff?" I questioned.

"He's moving into his new apartment soon and he asked me to help him pack his stuff." He replied, leaning against the kitchen counter. "You can get ready if you want."

"Wow. You're actually letting me get ready today?" I asked sarcastically. "That's shocking."

"You always complain about me not letting you get ready, so I decided to be nice today." He said, "Now hurry up."

I walked away, going into my room, closing and locking the door behind me.

I grabbed a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, putting them on along with a hoodie. I wore a similar outfit almost everyday and I always had something covering my wrists.

I used to cut a lot. I had gotten a little better at not doing it, but I still ended up with a razor against my wrist pretty often. It was a hard habit to overcome and I hated it. The scars and scabbed lines lining my wrists made me look weak and even though Isaac had already seen me at my worst, I didn't want him to see them.

I quickly brushed my hair and applied some makeup before returning to the main room of my apartment.

My apartment was designed like most of the other ones in the building.

The front door led into the main room, which was an open floor design. The first thing you walked into was the kitchen, where counters lined the back wall to the left and wrapped around, making an island sort of thing.

Further into the room was the living room, with a couch, coffee table and a TV. There was a sliding door leading out to a small balcony on the opposite wall of the front door, but I barely went out there.

To the left, there were two doors on the wall, the one in the back leading to my bedroom and the one closest to the front door leading to a small bathroom.

"Isn't that pretty much exactly what you wore two days ago?" Isaac asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

"No." I replied. "I'm wearing a different hoodie. And my jeans were blue then, these ones are black."

"Do you wanna go somewhere to get food?" He asked, changing the subject.

"Can we go to Burger King?" I asked and he nodded. I was in the mood for a burger and I knew there was one around here.

He just smiled and I put my shoes on before we left the apartment. I made sure that the door was locked before walking down the hallway next to him.

We took the elevator to the ground floor and walked outside. It was warmer out today than it had been the past few days, so I was happy about that.
