The doctor opened the door to my baby's room and there she laid. Her skin was slightly pale from the loss of blood. I sat at her side and rubbed her hair while her eyes slowly opened and fixated on me. "Oh, princess, I'm so happy you're ok!" tears poured down my face while I spoke.
I gently kissed her lips while she brushed my hair with her fingers. A knock at the door broke our kiss. "Come in!" the nurse opened the door, clipboard in hand. "How are you feeling?" My wife sat up and flashed her beautiful smile at the nurse. "100% " the nurse chuckled before checking her vitals.
"Good news! Both you and the baby are perfectly healthy. You should make a full recovery." we both gasped and looked at each other than the nurse. "I'm sorry the what?" Tori stared at her in confusion. "The...baby. I'm sorry did you not know? You're 10 weeks pregnant." the nurse slowly left the room in awkward tension.
"W-we're gonna be parents. " we looked at each other with tears in our eyes before hugging. "I'm gonna be a mommy!" my girl sobbed in happy tears while I held her tighter. I took her head in my hands and stared into her eyes. "We can do this." she continued nodding and crying as I pulled her into a kiss.
7 years later:
"MAMAAAAAAA!!!! DADDY BROKE MY BIKE!"
My daughter Yvette had a few weeks left till her birthday and she intended to make every comment hell for her dear old dad. "You leave my baby alone!" my wife yelled from the living room. She was feeding our son Marco who had just been born last month.
I chuckled before continuing to fix up her pink bike. It felt like only yesterday I was walking into that damned classroom. And now here I am. Holding my son, watching my wife teach my daughter how to ride a bike. She surely is spoiled rotten.
