I bust the door open. What I saw will haunt me for life. Dad and Talia. Fucking. As soon as they saw me she ran trying to explain. But there is no explanation needed.
I ran to my room tears threatening to escape. I had to leave. There is nothing left for me here. No friends. No family. All I have is Darren. So I texted him. ME: come pick me up. Please. I'll go with you.

Dad was pounding on my locked door and I could hear Talia crying outside. But I didn't care. 20 minutes was all it took for me to pack my bags. When I saw his car pull up I opened the door and ran for it.
They of course tried to stop me. But I was so blinded by anger that all I could think about was Darren. I ran out the door, threw my bag in the back and sat in the passenger seat.
"hey ba-" " just drive...please."
The ride to his house was silent just small tears falling out of my eyes. When we pulled up to his house he didn't get out. "come here baby" I instantly crawl into his lap straddling him. As soon as I was in him arms I broke down.
"shh baby it's ok. I'm here mama."
"h-he cheated on her....with Talia."
At this point, I'm shaking.
"make the pain go away!"
He just holds me cooing " oh my angel...I'm here baby."
Ten minutes in I feel a bit better. Damn, I love crying. Darren carries me inside the house, up to his room and to the bathroom. There he draws a warm bath and undresses us. "come in my love" I sit between his legs, the warm water soothing my runny nose.
"do you wanna talk about what happened?" he kissed my shoulder. I just shake my head ." no... I'm just ready to spend my life with you. Away from here."
The strawberry scented bubbles were soothing my mind while Darren rubs my body with the soap. "we can talk details tomorrow little one ok? But tonight it's just us." that sounds so fucking nice.
We spent a half-hour in the bath kissing and cuddling. It was bliss.
"come on mama" he wraps me in a soft towel drying me. He peppers small kisses on me as he dresses us in pajamas. Once in the bed, we kiss, cuddle, and match our breathing. " I love you " my voice comes out rough from crying.
" I love you too baby girl."
