Part 12

Betty POV

B-"why the hell do I need to do this?!" H-"because it's important that the other mafias think we're getting along with the Jones' Betty." B-"how would it benefit anyone?!" I continued to yell at Hermione.
H-"well you know we've been having problems with higher ups and if they hear that we joined together, it will be easier to get rid of them." B-"what do you mean?" I stopped yelling but I was still pissed.
H-"they'll think that we're weak." B-"and what do the Jones' get out of this?" H-"same sort of thing. They'll be targeted less." B-"I still don't fully get it. Wont they think that we've teamed up so that there's one mafia in Riverdale and we can target them?"

H-"Betty you just have to believe me when I say this is the best plan." B-"I don't agree with you, but I'll do it I guess." H-"good, cause it wasn't a choice." B-"you have another daughter though." H-"I only want you to do it. So you're gonna have to be ready for this by Friday." B-"fine." I said before being dismissed out of her office. I walked to my room and sat down at my desk which had a pile of undone homework. I sighed before opening the first book and getting all of the work done.

V-"b, dinners ready." Veronica said as she slightly cracked the door open. I looked up from my phone while I was sitting on my bed. B-"k, give me a min."
V-"of course." I heard her footsteps through the hall as she walked away. I got up and put my phone in my back pocket before heading out of my room. I sat down at the table where Hermione and Veronica were already seated. My mom came over to the table with her home cooked food, and she placed it in the middle of the table before sitting next to Hermione.

A-"how was everyone's day?" V-"great! I hung out with Cheryl all day and it was so fun!" H-"that sounds great hun" A-"Betty?" B-"could have been better." I said while slightly glaring at Hermione.
A-"what am I missing? Hermione what happened?"
B-"so she doesn't even know?! Who does?!"
H-"Fp, Jughead, you, and me." A-"knows what?"
V-"I'm so confused." B-"I'm being forced to go to some stupid mafia event with JUGHEAD JONES!" I yelled while standing up from my chair. V-"wait what?" A-"what do you mean?" H-"it's for business. It's a good plan and we will stop discussing it right now." She said sternly.

I huffed out a breath of air before leaving the table and going out to my car. I had grabbed my keys and I started driving. I didn't want to be near anyone so I drove to the spot I go when I need a break. I climbed my way through the woods until I ended up at the hidden water fall. The area was beautiful and calming. I've never seen anyone here before and it's not easy to find so I don't think anyone else knows about it. I sat down on a log that faces the water and I just watched. A few minutes later I heard what seemed like footsteps but I dismissed it as an animal until I heard a voice. ?-"shit"
