Part 21

Betty POV

The next Monday at school I had been able to somewhat avoid Jughead. I saw him with his friends in the hallway in the morning but I didn't make any eye contact. Just before heading to lunch I stopped at my locker to put some of my books away, but as I was closing my locker I heard some guy catcall me.
S-"damn that's a nice ass! I get it." I turned around and saw sweet pea, one of jugheads stupid friends. I started making my way closer to him balking up my fist but before I could do anything I was picked up by my things and pushed against the wall.

J-"you touch him and I'll kill you baby." B-"I'm not your baby." I spat at him. J-"oh yeah?" He softly kissed the part of my neck that instantly made me turn into putty for him. J-"seems to me like I control you." He stated with a slight smirk on his face. B-"no you don't." I tried sounding confident but my voice was weak. J-"just don't go hurting the people I care about again." He said before kissing my forehead and then dropping me. He was gone before I was even able to regain my balance correctly.

I walked outside to where we had cafeteria tables and I instantly saw Veronica waving towards me. I got to the table and she had a huge smirk on her face. B-"what?" I asked weirded out by it. V-"oh nothing...I definitely didn't see Jughead pinning you in the hallway" she said somewhat happily. B-"V! That's not at all what that was!" V-"I saw what I saw." She stated. B-"you have no proof." I said crossing my arms. V-"false." B-"what?" She handed me her phone which showed a video of what had just happened earlier in the hall. B-"V! What the hell! You can't keep that!" V-"sorry b, I have to. Besides I already sent to it to Cheryl." She shrugged off nonchalantly. B-"Cheryl?! She's gonna send it to everyone!" V-"B, relax. She won't. I'll call her right now to make sure of it."

Veronica walked off to call Cheryl leaving me alone at the table. I look down at my food and poke it with a fork not really wanting to eat. I could tell someone say in front of me, but it clearly wasn't Veronica so I didn't look up. I couldn't really tell who it was but I didn't feel like talking. J-"you know I've never seen you eat before." I look up my eyes wide in surprise.
J-"did you really now know it was me?" He asked folding his arms. I stayed silent as we continued to make eye contact. His blue eyes were making me feel so many things. I wanted to punch him but I also wanted to go over to him and kiss him.

J-"what are you thinking about?" He asked with a slight smirk. B-"what? Oh. Nothing." J-"there's something in your eyes that saying otherwise but okay love." He looked behind him at Veronica and stood up. J-"she's gonna come back." He walk towards me and leaned down to whisper in my ear.
J-"I expect to see you tonight." He said before walking away. B-"what?" I whispered to myself. I had no idea what he was talking about but I was determined to figure it out. Veronica sat back at the table with a little smile on her face.

V-"so Cheryl promised she won't share the video."
B-"that's good."  V-"you okay?" B-"yeah. Just... Jughead came over here and he said he expects to see me tonight. What could that mean?" Veronica stayed silent for a moment. V-"I don't know. But it's probably fine." She then picked up her lunch tray and stood up. V-"okay, got to go!" She said walking confidently away from me, leaving me alone once again.
