After their exchange the previous night, Lenny chose to avoid Amanda. She was too persistent for her own good. He refused to fall victim to her charms, especially when she could end up in harm's way.
However, after day one, Amanda decided that was enough. Before she left, she wanted to spend more time with Lenny.
Knock Knock
"How long do you plan on ignoring me? You know for a grown man, this behaviour is quite childish, don't you think?" Amanda teased Lenny. No response. Amanda sighed.
"You promised to carry me sightseeing. And I doubt after I leave here you will want to see me, furthermore, carry me on a tour so can you carry me today. Please, Lenny. In the Mob, isn't a man's word his bond? Hmmm." Amanda shouted again outside his door.
"Be ready by 1." Lenny said from behind the door.
Amanda smiled.
"See you then." Amanda sing-songed.
"Let's go." Amanda heard outside of her door at precisely 1:00 p.m.
"Coming." She shouted as she quickly tied her sneakers and ran to the door.
By the time she made it downstairs, Lenny stood there at the door of the car with his head in his phone.
"Get in." he said as he opened her side of the car.
"Thank you."
"Where are we going?" Amanda asked.
"You'll see when we get there." Lenny said as he turned on the ignition and rolled out of the driveway.
"Okay. I trust you." Amanda said staring at Lenny's side profile. And she did. In such a short period and unconventional first meet, she trusted Lenny.
"He really was handsome, even that much more when he's in control." Amanda thought, biting her lip as she admired Lenny as he drove.
"It's not polite to stare." Lenny said.
"I know." Amanda said as she continued to stare at Lenny.
"She was something else." He thought, letting a small smile graze his lips.
They remain silent for the rest of the drive. Just basking in each other's company.
"I feel like we have been driving forever." Amanda said as she looked through the windows trying to figure where they were or at the least headed.
"We're here." Lenny said as he stopped and exited the car walking over to open Amanda's side.
"And what exactly is here? A car rental place?" Amanda asked confusion etching her features.
"Yes. Now come." Lenny said as he held Amanda by her lower back and led her into the building.
"Good evening." The man at the front desk said as they entered.
