Louis woke up to the sound of his alarm beeping. He groaned at the sound, rolling over and turning it off. 6am. He rubbed his eyes, stretching out his body and pulled himself up, sitting on the edge of his bed. Glancing around his room he stood up and grabbed the same black jeans that he wore yesterday and pulled them them on before also grabbing yesterday's blue hoodie and pulling it over his head. Yesterdays tee was still inside the jumper from the night before. He headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth and style his hair the best he could, before quickly grabbing his phone and keys from the kitchen side. He didn't check any notifications due to running late, just shoved it in his pocket before slipping on his Vans and grabbing his skateboard on his way out of the door. He jogged down the stairs slightly, missing a few steps as he did, and buzzed the main door open. The cold air hit his face and he breathed in the fresh air before pulling up his hood and dropping his board down, and jumping on. He had a shift at his second job this morning, followed by a shift at the record store in the afternoon. He made his way to the coffee shop. The paths were quiet and empty at this time in the morning and he enjoyed the travel. As he reached the coffee shop he kicked up his board, catching it in his hand and pushed open the door, hearing the little bell jingle as it closed behind him. His coworker was behind the counter already, starting to set up for their shift.
"Hey Lou, how was the ride?"
"Cold" Louis chuckled slightly, "how have you been Fran?"
Louis walked past her while they were speaking, stepping into the back/kitchen area to drop his board to the staff lockers. He grabbed his apron and walks back to the front/counter area.
"Yeah I'm good, we haven't had a shift together for a few days! You know you're my favourite" she grinned at Louis. Louis blushed slightly, smiling back at Fran. She was 21 and had dyed purple hair that was shoulder length and Hazel eyes, and she wore glasses and she was a little bit quirky with her fashion sense, and she was so pretty.
"You're sweet Fran!"
Fran turned her back to Louis to turn on the radio, she turned it up just enough to fill the small room they were in. The coffee was only small, there was three booth type tables on each side of the room, with two round table between them. The booths fit six customers each and the rounded tables fit four.
"What shall we listen to today then, Lou?"
Louis grabbed the condiments and menus from the counter and started setting up the booths and tables.
"You choose, you know you have better music taste!" he grinned.
She shrugged before choosing Capital FM. Louis finished up setting the menus down just in time for it to reach 7am, opening time. The coffee shop was open early for the early workers and night shifts, it was one of the busiest times in the area.
Louis headed back to the counter and grabbed two 'takeaway' cups, making Fran and himself a drink. He always had a Cafe Mocha and she always had a hot chocolate. Fran hated coffee. She gave Louis a warm smile as he handed her the drink.

It was about 2 hours into the shift, so around 9am and it had slowed down a little. There was a few people sitting at tables but no one was waiting to be served. Louis and Frank were just chatting about a bit of everything, life, hobbies, family and friends. That's when she asked him about his art and how he was getting on. Fran was about the best thing to a friend that Louis had. They were just work friends, never met up outside of work, but she meant quite alot to Louis. He told her alot about himself, and he knew almost everything about her.
"Uhh, not great. I listed a new piece last night but I don't think it'll sell.. Nothing else has." Louis faked laughed slightly, fidgeting slightly and taking his phone from his back pocket.
"You're so talented Lou, you just need to get your stuff out there more! I can share your stuff if you wanna?"
Louis didn't answer, just staring at his phone.
"Lou?..."
Louis snapped out of it looking up at Fran then back at his phone, not saying anything.
"What.. What's happened?" Fran set her own phone on the side, heading over to Louis' side, worrying slightly and looked at his screen.
"Oh shit, Lou!" she squealed, making him jump.
"How?!" Louis' voiced cracked slightly as he spoke and a huge smile came over his face. He ran his hand through his hair, not knowing what to do.
"I told you that you're talented! So damn talented!" Frans voice was high pitched at this point.
Louis blushed as he noticed Frans excitement had made a few of the customers look over at them. She laughed also noticing and grabbed the service bell from the shelf, placing it on the counter then pulling Louis in to the back room/staff area. She gave him a huge hug and helped to calm him down and bring him back to his normal self rather than him just standing in shock. He looked at her as the hug ended and gave her a small smile, both of them then hearing the little bell ding at their counter.
"I'll go! Call your landlord!" Fran reassured, already on her way.
As she left Louis scrolled through his contacts and called his landlord.
"Hey man, it's Louis.. Yeah, I can pay some of my rent today, like now. Wait what? How can it have been paid, I haven't paid it? Mr. Styles? I think there's a mistake, I don't know who that is? Uhh, yeah okay. Thanks, let me know please. Bye."
Louis hung up all confused after being told that his rent had been paid. He had no arrears, nothing overdue. Fran popped back to join him and he explained the call._______
