As the sun set and we were only half way down with our hole we called it quits for the night and decided to relax on the beach for a little while longer before going upstairs. "I might be going to be honest, I'm kinda tired." Said Goni. He yawned as he sat down on a beach chair. "Stay out a bit longer, doesn't this breeze feel good?" Asked Sen. "and I thought you liked nights on the beach." I glance over to Saki as I see her walking to the restroom booth nearby, I catch her eye and signal for her to go to our little spot on her way back and she nods. As I make my way there I notice Shouko following me suspiciously and shrug my shoulders at the thought.
Once I get to the water to go around the rocks I feel arms wrap around my neck and legs wrap around my waist and see Shouko on my back. "Shouko what the hell are you doing?" I asked while being caught off guard. "I'm trying to get there too but I'm too short to go in the water." She replied. I reluctantly carry her around to the small cave and put her down on the floor. "Hey why didn't you put me down in the chair?" She asked brat-fully. I gave her a side eye, "Cause that's Saki's chair." I said. She pouted as I sat down in my chair. I glance over at her and see her with a wide grin. "What happened? Why are you smiling?" I asked with a heavy suspicion against her. She stood up and walked over to me. "Oh nothing, just realized if that's her seat we'd have to share one then wouldn't we now?" She said enthusiastically. She sat down on my lap and turned her head to me as she smiled more. "Can you get up? You did this last time and made Saki cry." I said while trying to push her off me. Shouko turned around and jumped on top of me causing us to fall back in the chair and now she was laying on top of me while I was on the ground. "Shouko get up!" I exclaimed while starting to get annoyed. She smiled more while leaning closer to me. "Just choose me instead of Isaki, you're gonna have a hard time with her anyways." She said. She grabbed one of my hands while leaning in for a kiss. Right before our lips made contact a splash of water hit us and when we looked over we see Saki at the entrance of the cave. "Saki wait thi-" I said before I see Saki plunge below the water. I push Shouko off of me and sprint to the water while jumping in. Just as I thought Saki fell off the beach drop off and started sinking down into the ocean. "SAKI!" I screamed while diving into the water. The others hear and start running over to see what was happening as they see me going down deep underwater. I try swimming faster to grab Saki with her outstretched hand and fear in her eyes. 'Damn it, grab her! Grab her! Grab her!' I said over and over to myself. I do one big lunge and barely grab her hand. I pull her up towards me while swimming back up to the surface. I look up to see Sen swimming down to us as he grabs Saki and starts taking her up to the surface instead. I realize I'm starting to run out of air and I begin frantically swimming back up hoping to make it. Before I know it everything turns dark and I feel myself drift away from consciousness.
When I come to I see Ken, Goni, Lua, and Saki around me while Sen preformed CPR until Ken shouted, "Hey, Hey wait I think he's waking up!" As Sen looked at me he sighed with relief and fell back on his ass while breathing heavily. Lua and Saki begin to tear up while Ken and Goni Smile with happiness. A little bit behind everyone is Shouko who is looking at me with worried eyes. I look away and back at Saki, I reached out for her as she grabs my hand. "Saki are you ok?" I say while coughing. She nodded as she gripped my hand tighter. Tears streaming down her face. "Wait come on and sit him up guys." Ken said. Sen and Ken lifted me up so I was sitting down instead of laying on the beach. Lua lunged onto me with a big hug while crying and screaming inaudible nonsense with the only thing I could understand was "you could've died!" Which was a true statement. I cough again trying to catch my breathe. I stand up slowly and look over to Shouko with a guilty look on her face. I walk over to her and stare at her. "Don't talk to me anymore, ok?" I said while I started walking over to the hill, and everyone else soon followed along with Saki who ran to catch up to me and grabbed my hand. I glance back to see Shouko on her knees crying. We continued to the hill and everyone sat down together, Sen and me catching our breathes. I hold Saki in my arms while she sat on my lap and Ken was next to me. "I think we should call it a night." I suggested. Everyone nodded in unison and we started deciding what to do. "I know that I'm gonna go home for the night, Sen let's go." Said Goni standing up and walking back to his house. Sen stands up reluctantly and follows suit. "Fine, fine, goodnight everyone!" Sen said. Ken laid back and stared at the sky. "I might go inside... but I don't know what imma do." Ken said. Lua yawned while looking onto the horizon. "I'm tired so I'm going to go home too." Lua said while standing up. "Ok good night, and remember we are gonna be here tomorrow too." Lua nodded and made her way home. Ken soon left for a nice shower and Shouko finally started walking over to me and Saki. "Saki, sorry about before." She nodded while slapping my chest and leaned onto me. Shouko walked past us and up the hill back to their house, leaving me and Saki on the beach.
Saki went over to our small makeshift house while I went to the store to get some food and drinks. When I come back I see her sitting in her chair half asleep. I sit down and put the food on the table that immediately wakes her up as she looks at me. "You can eat go ahead, no ones stopping you anyways." I said. Saki grabs one of the instant soba packages and mixed the sauce with the noodles and began eating. I smiled and began eating myself. We spent the rest of the night eating and relaxing after an eventful day and more eventful night. "I saw you two near the bathroom booths and heard what Shouko said to you." I said. To her surprise she scribbled in her notepad she keeps in our hangout and shows it to me, it said 'you heard? Why was you eavesdropping on us?' I smiled and laughed. "It doesn't matter now anyways" I said.
