As I open my eyes I squint and let out a groan of disgust as the harsh sunshine pours through my window and all over my face. 'My eyes hurt.' I think to myself as I try to close my blinds but my arm feels way to weak to even lift it from under my covers. I roll over only to hit my head against my wall- so pathetically I just drift back to sleep. That is until I was awoken by my mother who was sitting on a small stool with a bucket of warm water and a white hand towel. "You have a really high fever," she said. "Just lay in bed for the day." She laid me flat on my back and put the moist and warm hand towel on my forehead.
As I lay in bed my mother continuously barrages me with either a question, complaint, condescending remark, or a mix of each. "M-mom, my head is hurting can you please stop yelling?" I asked with my raspy voice and eyes closed. "Sorry, just trying to figure out what got you sick, you have never gotten sick before so this is just a shock." She said with a worried tone. "Must've been when I was playing in the ocean last night." I said. "Probably..." she replied. My mother leaves the room and after 30 minutes I hear a sudden thud against my window which causes me to fall of my bed out of panic. "What the hell?" I say as I try and peer over my window sill. I see Shouko holding something that looks like those small hand sized bean bags and a white hand towel. I open the window and get greeted to sass I never asked for. "Isaki's sick, come take care of her." She said demandingly. "Ya know I'm sick to numb nut." I stated. "You can't talk to me like that, I'm too cute." She said while blowing me a kiss. I roll my eyes and close my window. I hear another thud against my window and see the bean bag stuck, I pick it up, open my window, and fling it at her.
After a few hours I decide to head over and visit Saki since she's sick as well. Feeling a little better I get dressed and made my journey. The rest of my family went out to god knows where and left my sickly self home alone so there was no problem for me to leave to next door. As I make my way to Saki's house I see her peeking through the window as if she was waiting for me... or like someone told her to wait for me. I glance towards the beach and see Shouko having fun with the Fuma Brothers and I scoff. Right before I can knock on the door I hear it unlock and Saki in the doorway wrapped in a blanket. "Go lay down you shouldn't be up and about dummy." I said while looking sick myself. She nods and walks upstairs while I pull my apron out of my pocket and prowl the kitchen for foodstuffs.
"Hmmm, oh I think I know what I'll make!" I exclaim as I pull out an assortment of ingredients. I pull to plates from the cabinet and get to cooking. "Saki! You eat omelets right?" I ask while looking over my shoulder to see her nodding her head. Spicy, mild, normal, and Chili was the options I had to go with. I decided on chili for me and a separate regular old, normally seasoned one for Saki. "Stay in bed I'll bring you yours!" I said while walking up to her room with a tray which had our two plates, two cups of juice, and napkins with utensils on it. I open the door and place the tray on the nightstand next to her bed. "Here." I give her the plate of the regular old, normally seasoned omelet and a cup of orange juice. "Hopefully you like it, it's not spicy since you don't really like spicy things as much as I do." I said while I began eating.
