BEFORE THE CLEARWATER'S

CHAPTER 24

SAVANNAH P.O.V

This year for the twins birthday, they had decided that they wanted to celebrate at the trampoline park. Of course Mom and Dad agreed so here we were, sitting in a way too hot room, with 12 kids bouncing around like they had the energy of 17 toddler's inside of them.

I was holding Finn on my hip and watching Seth bounce around holding Ashton's hand. Dad had Peyton and mom was sitting down making sure that Ryder stayed out of the food. Most of the pack came but didn't want to look like fools and jump on the trampolines so they were playing games in the lobby.

After this, the twins decided that they wanted to have a friend sleepover. My parents agreed that they could each have one friend. Also part of the deal was that they didn't want the baby there, so I was on Finn duty tonight.

"You know maybe we should have Ryder watch Finn so he learns to wear condoms." I said which set mom off.

"Savannah, I'm sick of hearing it!" She said standing up. I loved my siblings but it also seemed like if mom couldn't find a babysitter, it got shoved on me. "Just be lucky you haven't gotten knocked up." I was engaged, so if it did happen to me, it wouldn't be the end of the world. And I don't think I would consider it being knocked up.

I walked out and sat on a bench closer to the trampolines and away from my mom. Finn was too little to get on the trampoline, not that my parents would let me take him on it anyway. He sat facing me and tried to pull on my hair. When I wouldn't let him do that, my ring caught his eye and he tried his hardest to get the diamond out.

After 45 minutes of jumping, everyone came back for pizza, cake and ice cream. I stayed out on the bench while Seth got me a piece.

"What happened?" He asked when he set my plate next to me.

"Nothing." I answered.

"Your mom is in there bitching that you don't want to take Finn for the night." I rolled my eyes.

"I just said that we should have Ryder watch him so he'll learn to wear condoms. I never said I wouldn't take him for the night." I knew if she was bitching at dad about it, that I was about to have him out here on my ass about how hard she works and all they asked for was one night. I never said I wouldn't do it.

"He won't learn." I chuckled a little as I ate. I watched the kids through the window as they stuffed themselves nearly full. Some of the parents stuck around even though my parents insisted they didn't need to. That we had plenty of hands to help. It still made me wonder if they thought my parents wouldn't be able to handle it because they were on the younger end of most of the parents in the twins grades.

That's when I caught dads eye. He set his plate down before striding across the room like he was on a mission.

"Here we go." I mumbled to Seth. I could use Finn as a shield if I needed to.

"Seriously? For once can you just make our lives easier?" He asked. I glanced at Seth who was trying not to act awkward. "One night. One night was all we asked and you're still acting like a kid. Grow up."

"Dad, all I said was-"

"I don't care what you said. Act like an adult." I sighed, it didn't even matter. I leaned back against the wall as he walked back into the room where everyone else was but not before leaning around the doorframe. "And I won't pay for your wedding if you don't grow up." I looked at Seth.

"Guess we're eloping." I whispered. He kissed the side of my head before taking Finn from me so I could finish eating.

"Come watch them open presents." Mom said coming into the hallway. I walked into the room where all of the kids were sitting around in a circle waiting for their gift to be opened. I really regret not getting Ashton that toy drum kit I saw. We got each of them a gift card to the toy store and nerf guns that they had been really into recently.
