(Chapter 6) Disappointment Arises

(Hiiii, im so so sorry for the wait but ive been back at school and just generally busy so i apologise and hope you enjoy!) - Toad

A few days later as James and Squishy dived into the water, James felt a strange feeling seeping into his conscious, almost as though he was being watched by someone, yet who could it be? Surely there weren't amy other survivors close enough to where he landed, but he shouldn't focus on that right now, he has a mission to complete.

(And yes i added a timeskip please dont commit a law break on me)

Re-equipping his new Seaglide, all the while Squishy began clinging to his arm, James powered on his Seaglide and let it drag him through the water, ignoring Squishy's panicked gurgles.

Reaching their destination, the feeling returned that James was being watched, again shaking it off as nothing, the two travellers continued along the current, arriving at a large open space littered with crimson grass and various fish, James spotted another lifepod, along with a grey animal with teeth and shark-like fins.

"Nope, not that way"

James spoke, as he quickly turned the other way, receiving a bubble of agreement from the squid on his shoulder.

Swimming down to the creatures left to avoid getting any more injuries, James scavenged what he could, obtaining a few Titanium pieces and scanning a..... Seamoth fragment?

Whatever that was, it looked like a submarine of some kind, but thats not important right now, he had to figure out how to get to that pod all the while avoiding the shark-thing circling the area.

He began to notice the lack of lingering bubbles that usually floated around 6is shoulder, after a rather panicked search, he spotted a small squid peaking out from the destroyed wall of the pod.

Ignoring the squid who was failing to hide its muffled giggles, James waited until the Shark-thing was out of sight, and swam as fast as he could towards
Squishy.

Narrowly avoiding the Shark-thing James swam into the pod and looked around, the pod was almost completely empty, apart from a fabricator and radio.

Then a blue light caught James' attention, swimming over he lifted up a piece of metal and saw the source of the blue light, a PDA laying on the floor.

He picked it up and played the log.

"Ozzy's log. It's the day of the crash. I don't know what the heck is happening. I'm scared and I'm not going outside. There are shadows in the water under the hatch but I can't tell if they're rocks or aliens, and there's weird looking caves nearby.

The Aurora was carrying everything needed to build the phasegate: mobile vehicle bays, bioreactors, propulsion cannons... It had a cinema. There was a zero-G gym. My cafe. I don't understand how we're here now. I don't know why no one's coming for me."

James sat in silence tears falling down inside his helmet, he had been curious as to why he hadn't found anybody yet, but now, he was starting to worry if there was anybody to find.

Feeling a small touch on his shoulder, James turned his head and saw Squishy, the squids eyes accompanied by a sorrowful look, James turned his body to hug the squid, who in response wrapped its tentacles around the divers upper back to reciprocate the embrace.

After a small yet meaningful hug, James and Squishy gathered themselves and headed back to their temporary home at the Lifepod, not wanting to be around a now very gloomy area for any longer and after also narrowly avoiding being murdered by the Sandshark James had managed to scan, they passed through the creepvines and the safe shallows making they're way home to the safety of the pod.
