The bright light casted a shadow over the large beast looming above Callisto's body, she felt minute standing next to it. But a low sort of rumble echoed in the place she stood, but could not see, and something within her chest clicked.

Looking down her eyes flitted across her arms and hands. They were clad in a black leather, thick with padding yet light in weight as it ran down her arms and till halfway up her palm. The part on her hand was like a sort of glove, it didn't cover her fingers or her thumb but the fabric covered her hand with a hole for her thumb to come through. It was like something to ensure the shirt never moved.

Her fingers were slightly blue as if she was in the cold for a while, and she began to further examine herself. Her legs and torso covered in the same black leather as her arms, only her torso was decorated in onyx scales that covered her body in a sort of armor.

Her hands slowly ran down her torso as it felt the clothes which didn't feel foreign on her. Why didn't it?

She lifted her hands to her head, her thick black hair was pulled into a braid along her skull and down her neck where it was secured with a braided leather strap, it looked familiar, like she'd seen someone wear it before.

The ground shook, there was something moving and it was ginormous by the sound of it.

Slowly gathering her courage she lifted her eyes, running over dark large thick legs. One... two... three... four... five. No, that wasn't a leg, that was a tail. A heavy scaled and spiked tail, a tail that could bring death with a nudge no doubt.

Her eyes traveled further, her neck turning upwards with the movement, a body. A body so large that she wasn't sure if even 2 whale sharks would be enough to make its size or mass.

'Look up' A voice in her head instructed and she obliged obediently.

A long scaly neck attached to the body, on its own you would think at the end it was attached to some sort of mutant snake but this was something worse.

'Better.' The voice said.

Better.

She urged herself to strain her neck even further backwards but something caught her eye.

How could she have ever missed it? Large wings, outstretched from the beast's body as if it was showing off. They spanned too far to measure with any good measurement. Maybe a blue whale, yes a blue whale. Maybe even further.

Her breath hitched and fear seized her body. Look up!! She shouted to herself but before she could venture any further than the neck of the beast, the light behind it began to brighten.

It's light became unbearable, lifting a hand to cover her eyes and she closed them in protection.

Then everything began to fade, yet the feeling of that certain homely place remained. And it frightened her more than she would dare say.

"CALLI!! WAKE UP!!!" Someone's voice yelled and Callisto shot up from her bed. Her hand unconsciously gripping the body next to her before moving on its own accord. It twisted and then there was a thud, a thud heavy enough for Callisto to open her eyes and peer over the side of the bed.

Sprawled on the floor like a starfish laid Xenia, her light brown hair messed around her head and her blue eyes wide as she blinked up at the girl who peered down from the bed.

Once seeing that the girl was alive, she lifted her eyes as they scanned the dark room. Books piled in the corner of the room while clothes overflowed out the drawers and cupboards and onto the floor, the desk in the corner was littered with papers and pens that messed onto the floor, while a sleeping and a duffle bag lay under the desk. Surrounding the foot of the bed were about a dozen small dragon teddy bears. God, it was a pigsty. As she looked forward her eyes caught her reflection on the mirror against the wall, she tilted her head slightly as the image of the armor covering her body was shown before her before she quickly turned away.
