The jewels in their hands pulsed brighter and began to softly hum Lugia's song. As the jewels grew in power, they each started to feel like the jewel was drawing something from them. From Articuno's jewel, Mark watched as it began to frost over and give off a frosty mist. While inside the jewel, a swirling blizzard was raging. In Nate's hand, Moltres's jewel slowly ignited into a ball of red flame. Within it, Nate could see a tornado of fire. In Sean's hand, Zapdos's jewel began to ripple in sparks. From within it, Sean could see storm clouds that flashed with a powerful lightning storm. With them all pulsing and humming, thin sparks began to stretch out from Zapdos's jewel, until a thin strand connected with Moltres's jewel. Connecting with it, the thin strand turned into a strong beam. As another thin strand connected to Articuno's jewel, another beam was sent out. Once the three were connected, another beam burst from Articuno's jewel to connect to Moltres's to finish off the connection. The final connection caused them all to jerk and gasp as the power surge from the jewels lessened.

Sean exhaled as the power flowed through the beams to neutralize its effects. Mark's jewel seemed to defrost back to its glowing state. Nate's ball of fire diminished to just a glowing red jewel and Sean's stopped rippling with sparks. From each of them, a green mist rose from their arms and was drawn into the jewels. As the green essence swirled into the jewels, they watched as each one pulled feelings and memories from them. The memories replaying in the jewels that contributed to the things the jewel needed. For Mark, it was every time the choices he made effected the lives of someone else. Helping them with his wisdom in some way and the feeling it gave him to help them. From Nate, it drew upon his desire to see things through no matter how uncertain the odds were against him. His determination to rise even when he was defeated. Drawing from his powerful emotion to fight and win. From Sean, it drew from his desire to connect with people and pokemon. Showing him how simply acts of kindness that allowed him to form strong friendships. Friendships that grew until they were more like family. Pulling from him his emotions of loyalty and unity.

Around them, the locals started to surround the shrine to keep the Rainbow Rocket members from interrupting them. Shadow Lugia looked back at the shrine, starting to charge what looked like a hyper beam. The Shaman rushed to the edge of the platform, shouting up at Shadow Lugia. "NO! LUGIA, PLEASE!" Just as the beam reached full charge, a bolt of lightning struck Shadow Lugia in the back. The power behind the bolt, slammed Shadow Lugia into the ground. Shadow Lugia let out a weak screech, glancing back to see the three legendary birds getting within range to attack. Moltres swooped in to shoot a large ball of flame over Shadow Lugia. As the ball of flame struck Shadow Lugia, it burst into a roaring fire that incinerated the grass all around him. People screamed and ran as fast as they could to escape the blast. Those that didn't make it were incinerated into ash before they knew what hit them. Shadow Lugia squealed in pain, before weakly staggering to its feet. Spreading its wings, it leapt into the air to chase Moltres. The wind caused from its take off put out the smoldering fire at its feet, and blew people and pokemon off their feet.

If not for the raised platform, the three of them would have been blown off their feet. Instead, they all just flinched at the strong gust of wind that surged up the sides. Shadow Lugia circled overhead as it chased Moltres back into the other two that had changed course to cut Shadow Lugia off. Articuno shot an Ice beam at Shadow Lugia that Shadow Lugia barely deflected by curling up to use protect. However, as it came out of protect, another lightning bolt struck Shadow Lugia in the back. Shadow Lugia screamed and seemed to shake violently in the air. The more it shook, the more its dark coloring was removed. The moment Lugia stopped shaking, he was back to his bright white and blue coloring. While hovering beside him was the dark armored Necrozma. Without Necrozma attached to him, Lugia let out a whimper and limply fell from the sky. As Lugia fell, his body crashed into the side of the cliffside, and he hit every rock before crashing into the raging ocean. The locals that had witnessed Lugia's fall, screamed in horror.
