The body of Ruby Steelix was flawless. Its bright crystal blue eyes stared into Sean's as it bared its diamond teeth. The shiny bluish white crystals protruding from its body dug into the sides of the rounded cave walls. There was no way to get around him, he had to be the one that made the tunnels. Sean gave the Ruby Steelix a small nervous smile, asking it just as nervously. "Hey, buddy... You don't happen to know that Crystal Onix, do you...?" The Ruby Steelix arched its head menacingly, getting ready to strike. Sean raised a hand, weakly rushing out. "I'm sorry?" Behind him, Mark yelled out. "SEAN, RUN!" The Ruby Steelix let out a roar so loud that the cave shook and deafened Sean for a minute. Whirling around, he started running as fast as his legs could take him. Sean and Mark were running so fast that they were in competition not to be the last person. Behind them, the Ruby Steelix shot after them. The crystal's protruding from its body scrapping spiral lines along the walls as it chased them. While running, Mark shouted out to Sean. "We aren't going to outrun him! He's only going to get faster the longer he moves!"
Sean huffed loudly, shooting back to Mark as he picked up his pace. "I don't plan to outrun him... Just you!" Sean started to pull away from Mark, causing Mark to snap out. "HEY!" From up ahead, Pryce tossed a pokeball and yelled out. "Froslass! Slow him down with Ice Shard!" The pretty pokemon in a white looking kimono, appeared before Mark and Sean, extending her small hands out to expel large ice shards out from her sleeve looking arms. Sean glanced back to see the ice shards piece together like a puzzle across the tunnel to form an ice wall. The narrow shards than solidified rapidly into one thick and solid piece. Mark and Sean kept running straight past Froslass's hovering body. Just as they got past her, the Ruby Steelix slammed into the ice wall and shattering it like it was made of glass. Froslass let out a startled cry and then fled back to Pryce. Flying back past Mark and Sean like they were running in slow motion! Both Mark and Sean looked back to see the Ruby Steelix crush a thick block of ice in its mouth. Its jaws were so powerful that the ice block didn't last under even the lowest pressure its jaws put on the block!
The ice wall hadn't even slowed it down! Mark and Sean screamed, trying to push themselves to run faster. Raichu surfed back behind Mark and hunched up as it yelled out. "RAICHU!" From its body volts of electricity shot forth to zap Ruby Steelix in the face. The electricity hit it directly but rippled over its body and into the crystals on its body to be released harmlessly into the earthy walls. Squealing out its name in fear, Raichu surfed past both Mark and Sean as fast as it could. The Ruby Steelix gained on them enough now that they could feel its hot breath at their heels, its powerful jaws snapping loudly like a machine! From ahead, they gasped upon seeing Nate standing with Zoey and Cyndaquil in his arms. They told him to run, but Nate nodded to Zoey, who made a weird arms gesture before pointing her palm out at Ruby Steelix in a stop gesture. From Zoey's palm a ghostly version of her hand pulsed out to hit Ruby Steelix. The strike was enough to stop Ruby Steelix in its tracks, keeping it from biting Mark. Sean and Mark rushed past Nate before slowing to a stop to watch.
Nate lifted Cyndaquil in his hands, yelling out. "Now, Cyndakill! Use Inferno!" Cyndakill tensed in Nate's hands, letting out a tiny high-pitched roar that released a burst of intense flames. The flames lit up the whole tunnel in warmth and bright light as the flames burst forth to engulf the Ruby Steelix. For such a tiny pokemon the flames could rival those of his Charizard. The Ruby Steelix jerked its head up so fast that it hit the ceiling and released distressed cries of pain. As Cyndakill stopped to take a breath, Zoey did her calming hand gesture again and set out another pulsing hand. The hand struck Ruby Steelix with a lot more force this time, causing the Ruby Steelix to drop its head to the ground and pant as the flames continued to heat up its body. Ruby Steelix was hurting now. Nate held onto Cyndakill with one hand as his other went to his pocket to remove a Great ball. Pressing the button to make it bigger, he threw the ball at Ruby Steelix. Mark rushed forward to grab Nate's arm, yelling out. "What are you doing?! Don't!" It was too late. Nate had already thrown it.
