Sean gave him a weird look, asking curiously. "How did he get out?" Nate kissed the top of Cyndakill's head, holding him up to the lock. While Cyndakill opened his mouth to burn the lock with a thin but powerful flamethrower, he told Sean with a smirk. "We have our own morse code worked out. I tap the ball when I'm in trouble. Cyndakill waits for a bit and then comes out on his own. The trick has saved me more than once." The lock melted and Nate pushed the hot door open with his foot. Setting Cyndakill down, Nate jogged over to the hook on the wall by the stairs and snatched the keys. Racing back to Sean's cell, Nate flipped through the keys and matched the number to the cell. Jamming the key in, Nate quickly turned it, while Cyndakill kept watch. Yanking the door open, Sean rushed out to hug him. Pushing Sean off him nicely, he told him gruffly. "Thank me later! Come on!" Grabbing Sean's wrist, Nate whistled and followed Cyndakill as he trotted up the steps ahead of them.
Whenever Cyndakill stopped to peek around the corners, Nate put his back to the wall and waited. Beside him, Sean whispered to him. "What's the plan?" Nate raised an eyebrow, whispering back a bit sarcastically. "Run and don't get caught." Sean rolled his eyes, muttering out. "You don't have something better than that?" Nate gave Sean a hard stare, stating back seriously. "Criminals learn to think on their feet. Improvise." Cyndakill squeaked, drawing Nate's attention back to him. Risking a look around the corner, he saw two Rangers walking over to the front desk and chatting over a cup of coffee. The single ranger behind the desk was finishing up a call and immediately answered another incoming call. Sliding down the wall, Nate whispered to Cyndakill. "Little buddy, where is my bag?" Cyndakill scurried across the floor without being seen as he headed back into an open office door. Staring at the door, he saw Cyndakill peek out from the office to look at him. Nate nodded, then made a gesture like he was breaking a stick.
Cyndakill dashed off into the dark office and Nate slowly rose back up to his feet. Behind him, Sean shrugged at him with confusion. Nate put a hand to Sean's chest, pushing him back against the wall and gestured for him to stay without looking at him. He had to stay focused. A loud crash came from the office and the two Rangers choked on their coffee, before slamming their mugs down to run toward the office. The first Ranger slipped inside, flicking on the lights. Leaving the second one exposed. Rushing up behind him, Nate wrapped his arms around his neck and covered his mouth. The Ranger jumped and began to thrash, but Nate slammed his face into the door to knock him out, then twisted around to get the momentum to flip the unconscious Ranger into the room and over the wooden desk inside. The second Ranger jerked up from investigating a broken lamp and took a moment to inhale deeply as he reached for his walkie talkie. Nate was already moving toward him and jumped to kick him back with both his legs. The kick knocked the air from the guys lungs and the force sent him backward over a low wall and into a glass that separated the adjoining offices.
The glass shattered and Nate dispersed his body to land on his side without getting injured. Rushing back up to his feet, Nate ran for his bag that was sitting half in a box on a shelf along the wall. Jamming his hands in the box, he removed a handful of pellets they had taken from his pockets. The Ranger at the front desk screamed in fright from the noise, before rushing over to see what had happened. Calling out to Cyndakill, he held his breath and threw a pellet out the office door as she reached it. The pellet cracked against the hard floor and burst into a puff of white smoke. Snatching the boxes of their stuff, he bent down low to let Cyndakill leap up onto his shoulder and then bolted for the door. The woman went into a coughing fit, allowing Nate to easily shove her out of his way as he burst through the door. Within the office, Nate heard the Ranger strain out into the walkie as glass crunched. "Requesting backup...! Ranger Station..."
Rangers that overheard the noise came running from different parts of the building. Nate dropped the boxes by Sean, yelling out. "Get the stuff! I got them!" Adjusting the pellets between his hands, he began to throw them at different areas around the main area, forcing the Rangers to run into the blast of smoke. The Rangers staggered and began to cough as thick smoke filled the station. The more smoke that filled the area, the more Sean started to cough as he gathered up all their stuff from the boxes. Nate waited until the Rangers were practically blinded, before picking up a stapler off the main desk and threw it at the glass entrance doors. The glass shattered, causing a Ranger to yell from somewhere within the thick smoke cloud. "HURRY! THEY'RE ESCAPING!" Nate smirked to himself, hearing them stumble and cough toward the front doors. Grabbing Cyndakill, Nate flinched as the sprinklers kicked on from all the smoke. Huddling Cyndakill close to protect him from the water, Nate rushed back to a coughing Sean. Snatching his wrist, he headed off toward the backdoor.
